So I had my baby on Monday and he was over 9 pounds. Plus...the placenta, fluid and all that stuff. How come I am only down 6 pounds? I know it will take a long while to get back to normal, but I still look very pregnant. My last 2 I just lost a bunch from just having a baby. Did anyone else lose less pounds then their baby even weighed? Is there more to it, or why is this?

Water retention, especially if you had Pitocin or an epi. I swelled really bad after I had my daughter.

I had both so maybe that's it. I didn't know that made a difference. Thanks!

It's just water. Same happened to me. I was only down like 5 after birth, went back for my 6 week check up and I was down 35! :)

Yeah I still looked pregnant for about a week or so after having DD, maybe a little longer because I didn't want to move very much due to having a c-section lol. After a while you'll start losing it faster.
