Are they worth making? Are there some recipes better than others?
I bought a bunch of cloth wipes in a co-op, they're amazing. idk how to make them though lol. you could also just use baby washcloths.
I just bought a yard of cotton and cut them into squares/rectangles, then sewed the edges to prevent fraying. I bought a spray bottle and filled it with water. Water is really all you need, but you can put a drop of tea tree oil in it to help fight any bacteria, or soothing witch hazel...it's whatever.
Also if you are going to buy diaper liners, just buy some fleece and cut it up yourself. Fleece doesn't fray, so no sewing required.
I use baby wash cloths or make wipes that are cotton print on one side and terry on the other. If you want to carry them pre-wet you can get a mini wet bag and carry them in there, I use a tiny bit of Live clean baby soap on mine, but i'm sure that there are all kinds of other natural ingredients that would be great for little bums. I've been considering lavender oil but haven't researched it yet so not sure.
I use cheap baby wash cloths and fill a little spray bottle with water, a little coconut oil, and a little squirt of dr bronner's lavender soap. I love avoiding all those mystery chemicals. Dd's butt has been waaaay less irritated since switching.
There's so much you can do. I went cheap and cut up tshirts and socks and also use wash cloths and baby wash cloths.
The basic format for a wipe recipe is an oil , a disinfectant, a cleanser, and water. But really its whatever u wanna do. Some people use water only. I don't prefer that because I feel like it doesn't slide on her butt as nicely and it rougher.
Some ideas for Acceptable products:
Oil: coconut, almond, olive, grapeseed, sunflower, veggie, vitamin e, etc.
cleanser: dr bronners pure Castile soap, and natural baby wash. Stay away from Johnson's and other chemical ridden baby washes. I make my own baby soap/ body wash for myself using dr B's.
disinfectant: lavender oil, tea tree oil, grapefruit oil i think its called, white vinegar.
I switch oils a lot but prefer coconut oil as it always washes cleaner for me. I use cold pressed but fractionated would not get hard when it cools off so would be better if you're gonna use a spray bottle of solution. But I don't do that, I take a 32 oz cup and put a few drops tto and fill with hot water. Then I pour it in a food storage container and take a chunk of CO and swish it in there til it melts. Then I dip my wipes and ring them out and set them aside on the lid. Then I add more oil as it goes away cause the oil floats on top and gets soaked up quickly. When I'm done with all my wipes (I always use up all the water cause I have a lot of wipes lol, otherwise I'd probably dump it cause the cocnut oil cools and gets chunky) then I fold my wipes and put them in the container. They're ready to go for each dipe change. I don't usually take them in the dipe bag but I have before. Usually I just use honest company wipes on the go. But I love cloth wipes cause I can just wrap them up in my cloth dipes and wash them all together!!!

What kind of container do you put them in? And where can I find coconut oil?
You can use an old wipe box. You can get coconut oil at any health food store or at costco.
