I think my 4 month old is ready to start solids. Yesterday my MIL put a small piece of avocado out in front of him and he grabbed and started to eat it. I took it away (thinking its to early) and he moved forward to get it again.
My kids ped. says babies will let you know when they are ready. Hes been reaching for food for a couple weeks now but I just worry 4 months is to early.
With my daughter she would tongue thrust when offered food and was not ready for solids till about 9 months.
Anyone have more info or thoughts on this type of situation.
We started dd around that time because of her reflux and she never had issues. She was ready. I personally don't see the harm in starting.
sounds like he is ready to begin taste testing solids. a quick call to his pediatrician should ease your mind.
Thanks for the info ladies! Still unsure what to do but Ill talk to his ped again and see what she has to say.
My oldest started really early due to reflux and my second we turned 4 months on the 20th has started eating solids his first bit wasn't suppose to happen. I was eating a piece of birthday cake and reached up and got his fingers in the frosting and then quickly put it in his mouth. I got most of it out of his mouth and off his hand but I figured after that I may want to start giving him some baby food. He has been eating it for about a week and loves it.
