DS is 9 months today and has his check up this afternoon. He has managed to fall and give himself a bruise on each side of his forehead right in time for his appointment. They are small bruises and are faint, but still noticeable up close. Should I be worried about his pedi thinking he is being mistreated? He is pulling up and starting to walk so he falls a lot and fell on a toy twice which is what caused the bruises.
I worry about that everyte we go in. Brady is always covered in bruises, he is clumsy and he falls a lot. My pedi has never worried. They know kids fall sand roughhouse. So unless there are other indicators.
I don't think so since he's pulling himself up and stuff. My DD always as bruises because she's a klutz (even at 15 months, she is a klutz lol). The dr said it's normal for them to fall a lot at first. We've never had any issues and she's had some good size bumps and bruises on her. I think they only worry if it's a constant thing, but they know kids will get hurt.
I was thinking they probably see a lot of bruises and know what other things to look for if they suspect abuse. His pedi knows we always bring him in if hes sick or anything is wrong and he has never had a single bruise/mark on him until he has started pulling up and trying to walk which is the past month or so.
Quoting TmA's mommy:" DS is 9 months today and has his check up this afternoon. He has managed to fall and give himself a bruise ... [snip!] ... mistreated? He is pulling up and starting to walk so he falls a lot and fell on a toy twice which is what caused the bruises."
my pedi questioned me once about the bruises.....about 5 minutes before Nicholas fell out of his stroller and busted his face open...in the pedis office.

Lol. Shit happens. He is right a that age where they fall over and bump their heads. There are special types of bruises dr are lookin for. My oldest is covered in bruises her shins are covered. Se gets them on her back from doing somersaults on top of blocks and stuff like that.
Pedi's see a lot of kids and typically have some of their own. You will be fine. Unless they see other warning signs they might ask what happened but they won't start an investigation or anything.
I worry about bruises too. DD is 4 and still has bruises all over her legs and now she has huge bruises on her sides near her hips where she runs into the corner of the coffee table all the time.
No I wouldn't worry about it. I had to take the girls last week and they looked awful lol. Oldest dd had a black eye from where she managed to knee herself in the eye attempting some gymnastics moves. She had several mosquito bites and since she's allergic to them the were these huge welts a little over the size of a quarter and bruised looking  Youngest DD had fallen outside that morning and her hands and knees were all scratched up. Plus when she gets mad she starts scratching her face and head so all around her nose and eyes were scratched up  He didn't blink an eye
i worry about that everytime we go to the pedi and wic appointments. My 2 year old always has bruises on his legs from climbing on everything and falling constantly. they never say anything. his pedi told me its very normal for kids to have bruises
