Quoting tonys_mama(army wife):" I dont think it cruel but I wouldn't name my kid Kelly boy or girl. It reminds me of the dumb girl from married with children lol. If it has special meaning to you then go for it. "

When I hear Kelly I always think of the movie 8 Seconds, lol.

In fact I think it's better on a boy than a girl.

I would't even though it is originally a male name. Kids are cruel amd most people assume it's a girls name. How about Kellan? I know it isn"t your maiden name but it's close.

It's Kelly or nothing for us.

Other peoples' kids may well be cruel. Ours our strong and not bound to the opinions of others. Besides, we're not keen on sending our to school where they'd be subjected to that kind of atmosphere on a daily basis, so an incidental tease is no concern of ours.

:D Love seeing this kind of response. No, I will not teach my kids to let bullies run the world, so.
Not at all sarcastic high five.

:D I try to raise them the same way I was raised, that giving in or doing things to placate others or prevent ridicule/teasing only emboldens and enables them and makes it easier for them to do what they want.
