Actually, OP, she is definitely right here. I didn't know you were nursing. When my doc told me 1200/day I was definitely not nursing. Just be careful- because your body will rob your bones/tissue of vital nutrients for your milk and leave you with nothing for your own bones and teeth among other things. Knowing that you're nursing, you should probably consult with a dietician about your needs while nursing. You look great- but don't let the awesome results trick you into making harmful choices.

I'm not nursing, I would never be selfish enough to cut calories while providing my child nutrition. I stopped nursing in August of 2012, when my daughter was almost 2 1/2.

Agreed. NO ONE should be eating less than 1200 calories a day.. Especially while working out. Have you ever checked your BMR before? If you put your body in starvation mode when you eat your body holds onto everything so you can't lose it.

My BMR (basal metabolic rate, basically amount of calories burned daily by doing nothing) is 1945, this is how much my body needs to maintain my current weight. So going from that to 1200 is not that huge of a jump and definitely not "starving" myself. I eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks, I just make wiser choices and eat low calorie foods in order to fill myself on the calories allowed.

I know I should reevaluate my calorie needs now that I've lost 20lbs but have not done so yet. I am not being unhealthy or hurting myself here. As I said before when I said less than 1200 calories its no more than ~100 less (usually I'm around 1100-1300)
