I have a dining room with carpet, nice light carpet... And 4 kids 5 and under.. Any suggestions on what to do to keep the carpet protected? We have an eat in on the hard floor but it only fits 2 sometimes 3 and I want to eat as a family.
Dollar store shower curtains under their chairs.
Get a dark area rug that will fit around the table, not just under it.
Make the room off-limits. Our dining room always was growing up. So was the formal living room.

OP wants to be able to eat as a family which would mean the kids eating in that room.

Oh, must have missed that part.
I agree with the dark rug, OP.
I would either cover it in plastic or put a large cheap area rug down for awhile.
We just put shower curtains under the high chairs and the chairs where the littler kids sit. then it's pretty easy cleanup. You pick them up and we take them outside and shake them off and fold them up and put them away till next time.
We've always had these large thick plastic covers... we use them for under our computer chairs, but it would definitely work for that. It doesn't look stupid either, and you can get it with rounded corners.
Thanks Ladies. I plan on getting a large area rug, I am completely redoing the whole room but I didn't want them to stain that either. My tots can be pretty messy. Might have to look into some vinyl covers for the floors.
