Dumbledore (Daddy's pick) was born on his due date 05/17 at 12:10 pm.
I had a membrane sweep on 05/15 at 11am and aside from losing my plug, showed no signs of labor all of that day and the next.
I was going to be induced on the 17th due to blood pressure and platelet count issues. Because of this, I'd been doing a 24 hour urine collection since Thursday morning. I was to bring this in at 10:30 and would be admitted around 3. At about 4:45 I thought I'd just been laying on one side for too long. By 5am I knew they were contractions. We dropped the kids off at my MIL at 7 and took the 25 mins car ride to the hospital. By the time I got to the hospital, my contractions were 2 mins apart and lasting about 1 min. OUCH! I've never had contractions that painful. Because my platelet count was low, we had to wait another hour or so before I got approved for an epidural. Stadol only worked for about 30 mins Max. OUCH!
Once the epidural was in every thing was peachy. At 12:10 PM we welcomed Dumbledore and completed our family.
Dumble weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. They were concerned he'd be around 9 pounds. He turned out to be our littlest.
We are all over the moon with our sweet, quiet tiny wonder. The kids are completely smitten and E has volunteered to be our handy assistant. He's a fantastic big brother and I couldn't be more proud of him.
P is equally sweet, but at 5 she's all about crowding and trying to help even when she can't. Very sweet, but we'll need to work with her on not over loving on him LOL
Hubs made me a crockpot of yummy chicken soup and rolls. Its good to be home and settling in.
Congratulations! Love his name. Wasn't Linus a character from Charlie Brown? I know I've heard the name before, just wasn't 100% if that was it
Congratulations! I love the name you finally chose :)
Congrats!!! It's always good to be home :) and my5yo is a little overbearing at times too haha
:!: congrats mama! welcome LO
Quoting Emilia's mumum +1!:" Congratulations! I love the name you finally chose :)"
Born on my daughters bday she turnded one friday.
Congratulations. After hearing his weight I'm glad you didn't opt for a csection based on their estimate.
Congrats! I love how wrong weight estimates are lol u were estimated at 9 lbs and had a 7 lb baby and I had the exact opposite! Cute name too! :)
Thanks everyone! Linus is a character from Charlie Brown. However, he's named for Linus Torvalds the inventor of Linux
And yes, my Dr. agreed that a C-section wasn't necessary because she wouldn't have been able to do it until this last Tuesday and he was only in the 82%.
He was my most painful delivery, but my quickest. At my 6 week appointment, I'll be looking at getting Ensure implanted in the near future.
Dumble as daddy is calling him. (Get it, Dumbledore... theodore... god my husband is a dork!) is a lovely way to complete our family.
