Omg so I went to my friends party she had and she made all tge food herself (she is mexican and can cook like a beast!) Well she made thia rice and omg it was heaven! It was soft and fluffy and not over seasoned but kinda buttery mmmmmmm!
Anyone know how I can make it? She is on vacation for like two weeks :-(
Was it red?
Fry 2 cups rice (I make a lot because we eat a lot of it)
You don't have to fry it, I just like to.
Drain the oil. Add 4 cups of water
Season it: salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, chicken bouillon, goya seasoning, and a can of tomato sauce
Simmer on low covered, try not to stir it much.
When all the water is gone, turn it off.
Let it sit a few minutes then fluff it with a fork.
I was taught this recipe by a Mexican friend. You saute about half an onion and a couple cloves of garlic in oil, add rice and cook until its golden brown. Them instead of water, you use Swanson chicken broth and one if those mini size cans of tomato sauce. There is some seasoning called Knorr caldo de tomato and you can use half a cube of that if you want but its not nessesary. So add twice the amount of liquid as rice, add tomato sauce, stir once only after it comes to a boil, and then cover and let summer until water is gone.
So, say if you used one cup of rice you would use 2 cups broth plus A quarter cup or so of tomato sauce

No it was like a orangish color.
Thank you ladies!!!
Oh I forgot to add, if you want the rice to be just like hers you will have to wait and ask her how she made it because there are a lot of different ways to make it : )

Ahh, I love red hair! My baby has a slight tint of red to his hair and I'm thrilled, even though SO and I both have dark brown. I'm hoping it sticks! Anyway, that's off topic lol, enjoy your rice : )
I fry the rice and pico de gallo together...
add water and shake some chicken bouillon into and lower flame...
I eyeball everything sorry I'm like no help lol
