My child is that kid that has the notorious butt crack.
No matter what we've done, or what jeans we buy, she has them. Elastic waist band, adjustable waist band, belts, etc. Been there, done that. She still has the butt crack.
Today she told me her friends at school "accidentally made fun of her" for it. :(
There has to be SOMETHING out there to help?
She's starts Kindergarten in the fall, at a new school with all new people, I don't want her to be worried about her little butt showing. :(
Dresses. Dresses and leggings.
suspenders or longer shirts. How about stretch pants
can you sew?
Maybe you can make her pants. Just make them a little bit more high waisted?
Make her wear an under shirt like a cami or tank top and tuck it in?
Or get her one of those things that go over your pants but under your shirt.
Maybe sew a piece of elastic onto the waistband over her butt? Stretch it out all the way, sew it on, then it'll make that area bunchy and extra tight.
This explains it so much better than me and it has pictures!
Quoting ~Julie Blue Eyes~:" Dresses. Dresses and leggings."
We do a lot of skirts and dresses, but she likes her jeans too. Especially during the winter too!
Quoting Kimber-lily:" can you sew? Maybe you can make her pants. Just make them a little bit more high waisted?"
Not well enough to make her own jeans.
Quoting Ladee+Grant+Lilly:" My only suggestion is to maybe try to find longer shirts, or maybe try to find some longer tank top or ... [snip!] ... some longer tank top or undershirts if you can't find any actual shirts. Then if the buttcrack shows she still has coverage"
I think it's because she has literally no butt for the size jeans she's in, so for how long of a shirt she wears, no matter when she bends over, it's still peaking out. I'm going to try seeing if she'll tuck it in.
We tuck shirts in sometimes, she's good about re-tucking them in when she goes to the bathroom and such.. but I know they always come out before she goes to bathroom, but that's the only time she'll re-tuck it.
Quoting Ole' No Name:" Make her wear an under shirt like a cami or tank top and tuck it in? Or get her one of those things that go over your pants but under your shirt."
I'm trying to picture what this is.. but I don't know what you're talking about.  Like I'm thinking like a belly band for pregnant women, but kid size? lol.
Quoting Chim Richalds:" http://www.iammommahearmeroar.net/2010/06/crack-kills.html This explains it so much better than me and it has pictures!"
OOH! I wonder if this would work on pants that already have the adjustable waist? Because all of her pants have that, but maybe that would help add to it?
Quoting Chim Richalds:" I think the placement of the elastic right over the butt crack is what helps. We have this problem ... [snip!] ... but no one has said anything about it yet so I haven't tried it. I actually think it's kinda cute, lol. For the time being."
I think it's cute too.
Even when she told me they "accidentally made fun of her" for it.
But since she's going into Kindergarten with kids she hasn't grown up with, I don't want it to be something she becomes worried about!
