I'm making cupcakes for DS' birthday party this Saturday. I just have no idea what type of actual cake to make. I plan on using a vanilla butter cream so I can add color to the icing and make it red, blue, and yellow (Mickey Mouse themed).

What type of cake do you think would pair up well with that? My family aren't huge chocolate lovers (even though I am!) so I need some ideas please.

You can do just about anything you would like. I personally would do some chocolate, some vanilla, and some strawberry! But I love baking :) lol

I would do a mixture of chocolate and vanilla.

But, we don't usually do a bunch of different types of cake. It's usually either half chocolate half vanilla, or just vanilla

You could do all vanilla, but add flavor and color to the frosting by adding jello powder.. I've done this with strawberry and it was amazing.

Start with a TBS of jello powder.. and add more if you think it needs it.
