Quoting TmA's mommy:" My husband and I were both present with ds was circumcised, sure we felt like shit watching him in pain but we did it for our own personal reasons and beliefs and we have that right. "

You know they're not really in pain, right? The area is numbed. They cry because they don't like being held down.

are you also against piercings for adults? tattoos? those alter God's perfect image... so does obesity. so does disease. are you going to turn into Hitler and say who is perfect and who isn't?

i think my younger son's has adhered a tiny bit. :? i just noticed it two days ago, i'm gonna ask at his next appointment. he's never had any pain, though. when i had pulled it back the other day (cause he had poop all over) it seemed like there was a tiny bit attached. so i would definitely keep pulling it back gently to clean it.

Quoting Ravey Candyass:" not all get numbed. many don't."

My husband was present for our sons' circumcisions.
I made him go the first time because I didn't want to leave LO at all, but I wasn't feeling well enough to go with them. He said one nurse held him in her arms, like a cradle hold. They numbed the area, he didn't even flinch. The doctor did the circumcision while a second nurse kept his legs still (other nurse still holding him) and it literally took like 3 minutes. They bandaged it up and he didn't cry at all. The little piece of tape-looking-stuff came off two days later and the area was just a little pink. Never even bled AT ALL. We used a lot of bacitricin for the week following the procedure, but it LOOKED perfectly healed in a matter of three days. It never bothered him.

After that, there wasn't a question in my mind about getting our second done. Again, my husband went for the procedure and it was done the same.

I have never heard of anyone being circumcised without numbing. That would be inhumane and I have a hard time believing it.

They used to do it without numbing it unfortunately. I don't think they do anymore. The doc that did my two sons said that he used to do it without numbing but refuses to anymore so we had to sign something saying we allowed it to be numbed.

Oh wow. That's horrible.
My son is 5, and when he was done it was routine to numb the area.
