Quoting Ravey Candyass:" or, you could teach your kid to shower. that works."

Kids are lazy.. especially as teenagers. You can teach your kids everything you want that doesn't mean they will listen.

noone should bash anyone for a parents choice. you did what you thought was the right thing for your son. I also did the same thing i got my first son circumcised because i thought it was the better thing to do and was healthier for them. I didnt read up on it enough though. I decided not to get my second son circumcised and that was my choice. I will probably get bashed because i have one of each but that was my choice. Dont worry about what anyone else says he is your child not anyone elses

Heck no, if i have a girl i'm gona have them remove her bits so she doesn't get stinky, and my kid gets dirty nails so i went ahead and got them removed.. better i got it over and done with than he gets dirty or lets them grow too long and he has an accident and needs one removed anyway. Who has time for modelling and teaching kids basic hygeine.. i mean it seems a lot of people don't so why bother eh

Did you not wash your vagina as a teen? I was taught that it had to be done so I did it. Same thing as teaching a boy to was his p***s correctly.

Yes. It really isn't that hard to keep an intact p***s clean. My SO is intact and has never had any problems. I think the rate of complications from the procedure is actually higher than the number of men who need to have it done later in life.

If your husband's grandfather or whatever had to have it done, it's probably because he wasn't taught how to clean it properly..which is gross.

clearly you didn't read correctly. and that's okay.
I did mention the necessity for an everyday shower, but if my child is in sports when he's older, in his teens, I'm not going to hold his hand and remind him to shower. I would love to hope he does but growing up with lots of brothers I know that doesn't always happen. Boys are boys.
My point is that if he were to get older, like in his late fifties (like I said before), and unable to keep it cleaned or whatever it is much worse to get a circumcision done later.
when the p***s is circumsized obviously boys still need to shower but there is a far less chance of dirt, sweat, oil, and bacteria causing infection.
Not looking to start anything, but no need to insult my intelligence. thanks! (:

I'll teach my son to clean his p***s and every other part of himself, circumcised or not.

You would think so. I know way to many males that have gotten infections because they don't want to take daily showers or wash properly. And I am not talking about penises here.

Fun Fact. The inner part of the foreskin is actually part of the immunological defense system which actually helps prevent infections.

Yes but as we all know females tend to be a bit crazy about hygiene.

Having lived in a country where no boys routinely have their p***s cut at birth i can assure you that they have perfectly normal functioning healthy penises as teenagers.

Maybe someone has the stats, is there a higher chance of a baby dying from circumcising than there is of a teenager having to have a circumcision from poor hygiene?

Heh? Girls can get infections too from wiping improperly or whatever. So you teach them to do it correctly. I don't get what this even has to do with circumcision.
