My son is 2 and will say everyone elses name besides my moms and my moms started to get upset about it. I have no idea why he wont say it. I have no idea how to get him to say it. Any ideas would be great cause i dont want her feelings to get hurt and i feel bad.

I don't think forcing it will change anything. My mom and dad were grandma and grandpa but DD couldn't say them. Regardless, she's only 1 1/2 but they changed their names to Pap and Nana so she can call for them when she wants them

Does he call her anything? Maybe he just doesn't want to use the term you use?

You can't force the poor kid to say it. Your mom needs to get over it. I can't believe she has issues with something so trivial.

There are plenty more options. Mimi. Mimaw etc. play around with some and let him decide which he likes

DS calls my mom honey lol. My parents (to the other grand kid) are grand mommy and grand poppy. DS calls my dad poppy for now and sometimes calls my mom mommy. But mostly it's just honey, cause that's what she calls him lol.

your telling me that if your child called everyone else by their names but refused to say mommy it would hurt your feelings. cause it sure as hell would hurt mine

But I'm sure he said all the other names on his own terms. Just because he can say other things doesn't mean he can say Grammy. DD can say puppy but not cat. I personally think cat is easier but she doesn't. I won't force it on her. Not only that but your son is only 2, he has plenty of time so she needs to relax

Do you ever ask him "who is that?" And see what he calls her?

He is 2 yrs old. Let him have some time. I'm sure he will pick a name eventually.
