I have an ob appointment on Friday & DH will not be able to come to this one. I want to bring DS because I feel like a bad parent that half the time we have one of our parents watch him so we can go grocery shopping or get what we need to get done (he behaves well, it's just obviouly faster by ourselves). But it doesn't seem practical to me.. & I've never seen a woman go into their appt. with a child around DS's age. Do you ladies think it's a bad idea to bring him?
I have to bring my son to all of my appointments whether DH is there it not.
Children weren't allowed at our u/s. I wouldn't do it without having someone to sit with him.
Here they don't allow anyone under a certain age in the u/s and only one person is allowed to be with. I suppose it is more for distraction, so no I wouldn't. What are you going to do when he is misbehaving and you are laying on the table? Do you know your hospital or clinic policies?
I had to bring DS last week to my OB appointment & it was tough. Will he sit in a stroller for you?
When I was pregnant with my second I brought my first to all of my appointments, except the ones they check me or anything like that. She was a little over a year old I just brought my umbrella stroller and she did fine. I just brought her some snacks, sippy cup, and a little toy to have.
My doctors office doesn't allow children at all. But I still wouldn't bring my kids.
Check with your OB office. Mine does not allow children there during ultrasounds unless there is another adult there to supervise the child.
my LO came with me, i think its good for them to feel like there apart of it as well, my LO went to almost of my doctors apts and went to every u/s and i will be happy to say that he did great my OB was great with him and made him feel like he was apart of it all . it helped out in the long run
I am not sure what their policies are, but the first appt. I had the doctor asked why we didn't bring him (he's the one who did my c-section, but DH was there too). I'll have my MIL watch him, thank you!
Is hubby going with you? If not, could your mil or your own mom or a friend go with you and help with the baby?
My 3 year old and 1 year old go with me to all of my dr. appointments.
My daughter who is almost 18 months always goes with me to my appt. BUT I have my Mom or My husband there to help with her. She was at my u/s and did great kept pointing at the moniter and saying "whats it?" and her Daddy would say thats your baby Brother! :)
