Jr's to me is like... Redneck. And end up calling your son junior or Jay-R

Yep. I've seen it.

While I really hate the whole JR thing, it's the best option out of all you've posted.

Just tell him no. I told my husband when we were dating that there would be absolutely no Jr's in his future.

His family is trying to pressure me into naming this baby after my husband's dad. Not a chance in hell!

My fiance wants a Jr. too, but I hate that. I've since convinced him otherwise, but for a while we were talking about making a baby boy a jr but giving him a middle name that I liked and just calling him by that. That way he's got his dad's first and last name but nobody calls him jr. or J.R.
You could use that as a compromise if necessary, and just make him agree not to ever call him junior.

If you give him a different middle name, he's not a jr.

Quoting redneck mamma:" If its pronounce Reese why can't it just be spelled Reese? Rhys to me looks like Rice.. Why does everyone want to spell names so damn weird... I feel for the kids."

Rhys is the welsh spelling. it isn't made up. However Reece is. At least in my research i Haven't found an origin for it.

I'm due in 3 weeks and we might end up going with Kieran Rhys. Or Rhys Oliver. I refuse to spell it the bumpkin way.

Ryker isn't a name. It's a character off star trek. Pathetic.

I have never watched Star Trek.... and I know two little boys named Ryker.

hmm, that's news to me. My dad and brother have the same first and last names but different middle names and they're senior and junior. I guess traditionally it would make sense that a junior would have to have the exact same name to be a junior since junior is only tacked on to differentiate between two people with the exact same name. But it wouldn't be the first time I've seen it done with a different middle name, there is no law against it and at least you'd be satisfying your husband while also getting good name for your baby. meh.

Rhys is one of my favorite names of all times, it was my first choice for a boy name, but my cousin had a boy first and took it but spelled it all trashy. Ryeese.
RYEESE! UGH. P.S.Oliver was my #2 choice for a boy so I adore Rhys Oliver! Amazing name!

We'll see if I can convince Dad. So far our only compromise is Theodore Oliver or Theodore Rhys, Which I don't hate...... I just don't love. Oliver Rhys would be my top choice, but Oliver sounds horrible w/our last name.

if its a JR then they have the exact same name. There is no Law, but if you're not going to do it right, you shouldn't do it.

Agreed. I never did any research because a junior was never really an option in my mind. Judging from her name list it doesn't seem to me like OP really gives any poops about following traditional name rules.

Tatum Michael is cute. All your other unique names are too far out there.

Ryeese isn't even the same pronunciation. I say still go for it! It'll at least make her look like a dumbass when you compare the two names together.. LOL
