This made me laugh  lol

We get FS but it only helps us monthly and we still need to buy groceries with our hard earned money to get us by for a whole month. Eventually we will be tampering off of assistance but it's not like I am dirt broke every month. I mean hell, people on assistance need to buy clothes and shoes to wear plus toiletries and what not. I certainly hope people don't expect me to wipe my ass with leaves and wash my clothes in rain water.

It's annoying when people say that "well if I have to get drug tested for my job......" well shit not every single employer drug tests people. I've never been drug tested for a job before EVER and I have held many jobs. To me that point is invalid.

Pot is not a hardcore drug to me and I know a lot of people who smoke it. I can get high and not pay a dime. So I guess if someone wants to get pissed at me for spending their tax dollars while I get high for free then fine b***h all you want. I'm amused

Good. That just shows your lack of character... can't wait til Michigan follows suit with Florida, and you get your benefits that I pay for taken away.

Someone pointed out earlier in this thread.. that if your holding down a minimum wage job... (which most of those you don't get drug tested for)... and you're broke enough to qualify for welfare, your tax liability is 0. Your point is invalid.

That is not the point, though. It's not about dictating what people do what their money... I really couldn't care less. But as long as employers for taxpayers are going to drug test... welfare should drug test.

I agree... employers SHOULD NOT drug test! I want to get high in the evenings after working all day, too! But I can't I will lose my job- which enables me to pay the taxes that contribute to the welfare system. Why the hell should welfare beneficiaries have more leniency than the people who fund welfare?? That makes no sense! If that's the case.. why don't we all go work minimum wage jobs that don't require drug testing, that way we can all get on welfare, and smoke pot? If we did that... no one would have tax liability, and then guess what.. there's no tax money to fund welfare, and we're all SOL.

I have a problem with people on welfare doing drugs. If there is "extra" money for drugs every month, it could certainly be better used elsewhere.
People on welfare do deserve to do the little extras like the zoo or a toy or a new shirt, not drugs.

Not all my previous jobs were minimum wage jobs. Same with my SO, he has never worked for minimum wage. MI won't do what Florida tried and failed to do.

Michigan is already passing and has passed anti drug legislation. Like NB testing. They are moving towards it.

Let me put it to you this way... not that it will faze you since you are amused by the fact that I'm bothered... I bust my ass, my husband busts his ass. Every year when welfare recipients are bringing in 3000 for each of their children, and then some at tax time... We are sending a check to the IRS for anywhere from 2000-7000 dollars for taxes... which go toward the funding for welfare. I don't get any help. If I sent my child to daycare it would cost more every month than what I make, and I wouldn't be eligible for any kind of assistance because of our high tax bracket. I would be better off being a SAHM and not working at all- luckily I have a job that I can take my kid with me... but if I didn't, and most people in the same boat, aren't that fortunate. Either way... We bust ass, and don't think for one second that I wouldn't love to go home and spark a bowl to help me relax. But if I choose to do that.. I risk losing my job.
Most jobs that offer compensation enough to make you tax liable-require drug testing. Since it is those employees (the ones subject to drug testing) who are contributing to welfare, by paying taxes, by keeping their job, by not doing drugs... I think it's a total slap in the face to let someone receive welfare benefits without being subject to the same rules.

Its not the states fault that the kids have shit whole parents. Be pissed at the parents not the welfare system. Once again personal responsibility out the door and blaming others.
