Quoting Supafly★:" No way. Around here people start having kids at 30 and up. Having kids in your teens/early 20's is not as common as it is in other parts of the country. "

I had all of my kids before I was 25 and most of my friends still don't have any kids.

See I believe if you are able to love and provide for your children why not. You graduated high school and college that is a perfect example for your children. I had my first at 24 I had them all close in age so I wouldn't be a old ass mom or grandma and get to enjoy my 50s without a child in the house.

I have a huge handful of friends that are just starting to get married and have kids at 27/28 years old.

I've said it to people before and they say " SO you would be proud of your child if they were in the exact same situation as you"
Actually yeah I would.
I hope my children do wait to have children so they can do everything they want in life before settling down but I got this way on accident and I couldn't be happier. I think we're at a great place in our lives and we have accomplished more than people twice our age ( that we know)

35. I've have a 17yr old 2yr old 1yr old and a 11wk old. I'm done and getting my tubes tied next month. My mom was 40 when she had me and everyone in school thought she was my grandma.

I don't want my kids to have kids young like I did (I was a teen mom).

I would too! I've been through so much, but I graduated high school homeschooling, I work in a job that I love, my husband is awesome, and while two so close in age is trying sometimes, I love it. This is what I wanted to do with my life. Work for fun, not money, have kids, volunteer in healthy eating programs, and be with someone who I can actually have an intelligent conversation with.

Uh, yeah! I would support my kids being independent and being happy with their lives, even if it meant they weren't banking.

Meh I'm used to it, I look a lot younger than I actually am so I hear it quite a bit lol

I would be damn proud of my kids if they own their own house and had great jobs at 24. ( well DH works I don't by choice)

We're actually considering possibly looking into a reversal or IVF about the time I hit 35.

I will be 26 when this baby is born. I wouldn't want to be pregnant after 28.

But even having this one at 26 seems crazy to me so I probably won't have anymore.

I had my son when I was 18/19 so not exactly a "teen" mom but I did not plan on having kids for a very long time, but I grew up and did what had to be done.
I am sure you did the same thing.
Like I said I HOPE they do wait but if it ends up happening like it did with me, just show you can take on the responsibility and overcome your challenges and I will be prouder than hell of you.
