So we were pretty set on Matilda but I just came across an article stating it was very popular

http://www.canadianliving.com/moms/babies/baby_names_the_100_most_popular_canadian_baby_names.php

I thought it was very rare, like three hundred and something in Canada, but I cant find any info now except babycentre.ca

Has it maybe spiked recently?

Does anybody know the ranking in Canada or how to find current stats?

I wouldn't trust a baby naming site unless their numbers come from the actual government site. What province do you live in?

Quoting Tig Ol' Bitties:" Ontario"

Do you have the equivalent of America's Social Security Administration where they have a site with the top 1000 baby names from previous years that come from Social Security card applications?

That's odd.

Apparently from what I found Matilda wasn't in the top 25 for 2012.
