I know I'm being selfish and completely ridiculous.. But I can't help it! I EBF DD. Around the same time she was born, a couple friends had babies as well. For whatever reason they chose not to bf. (NOT JUDGING, I FF DD1). It seems like every weekend they pawn off their babies for a night or the whole weekend with relatives and go drinking. I admit I am jealous. I can't even take a satisfying shit without DD freaking out (I guess she prefers my company over everyone else including DH cos I'm a b**b to her lol). But even DH gets out to play hockey with his friends whenever he wants to. I just sometimes get overwhelmed and feel trapped because I CAN'T go out. DD refuses the bottle with BM. Please don't get me wrong, I love her with every fiber of my being and I LOVE breastfeeding. I just need to have some me time. The past two days I've felt like I'm in a slump and kinda sad about it. I haven't gotten a full nights sleep since before she was even born.. Sorry, I needed to vent. I'm praying she sleeps through the night soon or that she'll take the bottle with BM so I can at least go to a movie with DD1 without feeling guilty..
This is far from selfish and ridiculous. My kids are 6 and 2 and feeding themselves, but I still feel trapped as f**k. lol. I couldn't imagine my kid wanting to be on the b**b constantly. :(
I wish I had some kind of advice for you, but I don't. Just know you're not overreacting <3
How old is she? If you nurse her before you go see a movie, you should be able to get away for 2 hrs. Even if she's a sipper and nurses more often, if she's over 3 or 4 months old, she can deal for 2 hours with out you. I know how you feel though. I nursed my LO for 16 months and after about 6 months he wouldn't go to ANYONE, not even DH. He was permanently stuck to me if we were out of the house or if anyone was in the house besides me and him.
Sometimes the benefits don't outweight the strain on the emotional psyche. I've seen this post about 5 times this week.
Formula fed and breast fed babies will both be happy and healthy.
But if breast feeding is causing you to stress out, make yourself feel guilty, etc.aybe it's time to think about pumping more, or just switching over.
Which is better? Breast feeding or a happy mom?
Thanks for the replies ladies. I woulda posted sooner but am running a few errands. DD is 4 months old now. I guess I really have to try harder with the bottle and BM. I'm much happier now than what I was FF DD1. It's convenient, free, easier on her belly and gives us special bonding time together so FF now is out of the question lol. Persistence I suppose!
I totally understand what you are going through! My little one turned 1 on the 6th and she never would take a bottle and she still won't take breast milk from a sippy. I started offering her cow milk in a sippy at 10 months but she was 11 months before she would take that. She still wakes up between 2 and 6 times a night! It is very frustrating but rewarding in the end. I just keep telling myself that this will not last forever. She recently went to only nursing at night so I am super happy but she still wants to be with me all the time. Just know that if you need you time you can pump off a bottle and leave with someone or have them syringe feed if necessary. It isn't selfish to get away for a few hours.
Quoting Supafly★:" I totally get where you're coming from. Not ridiculous at all, mama. Has someone else tried giving her ... [snip!] ... eat table food with someone else]. I never really left him so he's not used to it at all. Don't let this happen with you! "
I've been told to let someone else give her BM in a bottle because they can smell it on ya lol. I'm gonna let DH try to give her a bottle tonight

Do you cosleep?? I've been cosleeping with DD & I'm almost 100% positive she wakes up bc of my snoring loll :/ I've decided to let her sleep on her crib staring next week with me in the room for a couple nights and then sleep with DD2 across the hall so I don't have to trek upstairs if she wakes up. I'm hoping she'll sleep longer periods if not all night if she's in the nursery. With DD1 she started sleeping through the night after I stopped cosleeping hahahah
Well her crib is in our room and she sleeps in there during naps fine and i out her in there when she falls asleep nursing but when i have to get up and feed her i usually leave her in our bed cuz i fall asleep myself lol but i keep telling my husband i think if we put her crib in HER room i think she will sleep better. she will nap for 4-5 hrs during the day and doesn't make a peep but at night she is up all the time but my husband snores sooooo loud! i think he has apnea but thats another story lol

My LO sleeps better when DH is not around, cause of the snoring (we cosleep). Frankly I only cosleep cause of the nightfeedings, and since LO is finally sleeping through the night (with exception of the 5 am feed) I will slowely start moving him into his own room now. He is 6 months.
And I know how you feel mama! Once they start sleeping longer stretches at night it will be easier to go out or get a babysitter.
