Quoting Blythe.:" Can you turn a fan on to at least circulate some air? "

Yeah, we are upstairs and there is a fan in here. Downstairs it wouldn't do much but move the smoke around though. There is literally that much of it.
The thing that really bugs me is I know they only smoke in the other room because they know I don't like them being right next to her. The minute she is upstairs they're lighting up in the living room even if they know she will be back down in five minutes. And they don't give a shit about smoking around me even though I'm pregnant and they know I hate cig smoke (always have). I just leave the room when they light up in front of me.

Yes and no. DS was born at 27 weeks and my cousins bday was the week after he came home from the hospital. It was just a small get together with our close family so we planned on going, but only if my aunt wouldn't be smoking in the house. I spoke to her beforehand and just let her know that because of his condition we wouldn't be coming unless she smoked outside. She's smoked outside ever since.

This! I don't take DS places where people smoke inside.

I don't really know what I would do in your situation, smokers I know are respectful. For example, my Dad use to smoke a pipe but never around his grand kids. He wouldn't smoke at all if grand kids were visiting. He actually quit smoking all together five years ago, due to him wanted to become healthier.

Others I know would only smoke outside. My husband has terrible allergies to cigarette smoke so even when we didn't have kids his sister would excuse herself to go smoke outside. I truly believe smoking is a terrible addiction, and very damaging to ones health. My husband and I avoid places we know people will smoke at.

Quoting NICKEL☮POLIS:" ***DO NOT QUOTE*** Does it bother you when people do it? Do you say something? What about if you are ... [snip!] ... her lungs out :( I'm afraid it's going to affect her long term, we've been here for a few weeks. Can't wait to leave Saturday!"

I don't allow Lily in houses where people smoke inside. If we visit somewhere where they do smoke inside i'd request to take it outside at least for that brief time period. But honestly no one I know smokes inside, it's disgusting. But if we are in a car.... no, no one can light up. If we are outside like at a park or something then I don't really care but I won't want Lily to stand directly next to them. My Dad will smoke around them but he tries to get the kids to stay away from the smoke. So outside, I don't really mind, inside.... yuck.

My mother smokes. And I personally have had her smoke outside and I won't take O inside if she doesn't.
