Quoting NICKEL☮POLIS:" Probably not. My mom had me at 13.. my dad was 19 when I was born. Nothing was done.. that was 22 years ago though."

If OP is from America, though, there is a good chance he might be for statutory (sp? sorry) rape. I can't remember if the partner has to be 16 and up or 18 and up to be charged with anything like that.

I can not relate. But if it were me, is abort. I couldn't imagine putting my body through pregnancy and labor at such a young age with an underdeveloped body. Just be honest with your parents. There is no good way to break to break the news gently

She lives in Missouri and the law here is the minor has to be under the age of consent (16) and the adult has to be over 21 (if I remember correctly). He most likely won't be charged.

No problem! But of course every case is different. It would all depend if the state wanted to prosecute.

That's very true. Or if the parents of this girl wanted to try to press charges as well, I suppose.

The state would probably do it on their behalf since it would be criminal.

OP just tell them in the calmest way possible. It's easiest to tell the parent you are closest with. I think raising a child at 13 would be extremely hard and you should discuss all of the available options before making a decision.

That's true, too. I guess the state would find out one way or another for sure.

I have heard doctors are required to report underage pregnancies. But I am not 100%.

I would think they would be obligated to. I kind of hope so. Really, a 17 year old should not be messing around with a 13 year old in my opinion. That is just taking advantage of a young, vulnerable child who would probably do anything an older person asks them to, to be accepted. :/ I hope that isn't the case. I just hate that for kids who think they have to have sex so young to be accepted into society.

That's how it is here so I wasn't sure. If someone is under 16 then the state automatically presses charges even if the parents don't want to.

I understand what you're going through. I'm only 15 and I"m 5 weeks pregnant.

I told my Mom over the phone because I was too scared to tell her so I thought she would have more time to digest it.. But when I told her she cried, and she was upset with me but she mostly just wanted to help. So there was no need for telling her over the phone. I suggest you just come right out and tell your parents.
