I understand that parents or friends o family disapprove of there kids or whatever being 16 and dating someone who is like 33 or something, just wats the big deal if someone is in their twenties and dating someone in their thirties? like for example I am 21 and my boyfriend is 32 and I have hd o people judge me because my boyfriend is older then m by 11 years. Like why does it mtter I am an adult and he is an adult to and there is nothing saying two adults of different ages cannot be together. I could see if someone was 14 and dating some who is 26 that is wrong,
Half the age plus 7 rule
But it doesn't bother me if I see it. Teens and 40 year old guys kinda make me uncomfortable
Just don't tell anyone his age. Personally I have no issue with it. I'm turning 24 and my SO is in his mid to late thirties.
My step dad is 11 years older than my mother and 10 years younger than my grandmother . . . I always found it hilarious to poke fun at, but it never has bothered me.
I like older men but not too old.I'm almost 22 and SO almost 25.He's tge youngest i been with lol.To each their own.I try not to.judge but when i see a 20 year old with a 45 year old man makes me wonder what can they have in common.
It's not about being "wrong"...I guess it all depends on the persons mindset. I know a 25 year old who is dating an 18 year old. Sure, it's legal, but they are in two different mind frames.
The 25 year old (male) has 2 children (which he doesn't see nor take care of) has no education past 9th grade. Has only ever worked minimum wage jobs, if he has a job at all.
The 18 year old, has no kids, lives with her parents. Has never been out in the real world. Is in college, has 3 jobs to support the 25 year olds partying and habits.
It's a relationship doomed to fail, pointblank. If your compatibilities outweigh your differences then I suppose it doesn't matter the age difference.
Quoting 10 weeks with #3!:" I see nothing wrong with it... I do have a friend that is 16 and married to a 25 years old. She said ... [snip!] ... a bit crazy... a 13 year old with a 22 year old? come on! anyway, at 21 your an adult, you make adult decisions every day."
That is way different, I mean when you turn 18 you're an adult before then you shouldn't be. I mean my husband was 19 when I was 17 and we got married but that is only a 2 year difference.
I want to know who has an issue with it? My little ones dad is twice my age and I dated him 3 years and nobody said anything. Not a soul.
Who's judging you or starting crap?
I've dated outside my race and nobody gave a crap.
My now boyfriend is considerably older. Nobody cares.
I'm 23 and my SO is 44. I love it. A lot of people have a problem with it but ehh I could care less. I see nothing wrong with someone in their 20s dating a significantly older man.
I wouldn't give a rats ass if my 20 yr old dated a 35 yr old. I would, however, be shitting all sorts of bricks if my 15 yr old was dating a 30 yr old. When they are an adult and fully capable of making their own decisions, fine, date who you wanna. But a 30 yr old dating a 15 yr old child is disturbing.
My ex was 12/13 years older than me (depending what time of the year). It bothered my mother but I couldn't understand why at the time because I was seeing things through rose colored glasses of the relationship. Looking back on it, I can see why - he was awful for me, and age had given him that much more leverage on how to manipulate me. Looking back on it, knowing what I know now, I know he pursued me KNOWING he had leverage - partly because of my age and his. If my daughters EVER think they're going to pursue someone with that kind of age gap, I will certainly object. I don't want what happened to me, to happen to them - while 6 months pregnant with my 3rd child, he put me into ICU.
people are probably weird about it because you are right on the cusp of inappropriate. still at your age, (I am turing 30 in august) if one of my friends wanted to date a 21 year old, eye brows would be raised. my sister and brother are 21 and 23, and I have nothing in common with them (understandably).
not saying your relationship is 'wrong'. but if you were 18 and he was 29, that would be skeevy, and three years isn't that much longer.
keep your chin up if it's working for you though.

I think the reason I'm so iffy on it is because my sister at 15 went through a "phase" where she dated and "hung out with" 40 year old men. 5 year age difference from my FATHER. I found it disgusting.
I wish either of my girls would try that shit in their teens.
As long as it's legal, I don't care how old two people in a relationship are.
I mean, I couldn't be with someone old enough to be my dad or grandpa or anything but that's my opinion.

I think after the 18 mark, it shouldn't matter on age if they are older. I mean if there 16 with a 20+ year old, then just be careful with the age gap, but if its legit and they are happy, then who cares on age. My parents are 14 years apart.
When I was 17, I dated a 26 year old.
When I was 18, I met my husband who was 25 at the time.
