Okay, my periods are irregular so ovulation is hard to pinpoint and I wasn't tracking it anyways. My last period was 11/24/12.... I took a pregnancy test on 1/4/13, and had an ultrasound done but they couldn't see the baby so I had to get blood drawn. My quantitative HcG put me at around 4 weeks pregnant, meaning I conceived sometime between the middle of December and right before Christmas. Made sense. But then I had an ultrasound and my due date is September 19th... meaning I conceived around December 27th? That doesn't make any sense to me at all! My due date was originally the end of August... my doctor said that my baby may just be small, since my hcg lvls said I'm 2 weeks father along than what my due date says I am, which I agree with... but it still doesn't make sense to me. Help?
Quoting Carrie Buckenmeyer:" Okay, my periods are irregular so ovulation is hard to pinpoint and I wasn't tracking it anyways. My ... [snip!] ... I'm 2 weeks father along than what my due date says I am, which I agree with... but it still doesn't make sense to me. Help? "
anddd I forgot to say my HCG levels were at around 4 weeks when they drew my blood on January 16th, 2013.
HCG levels are HIGHLY variable and for that reason are a rather poor indicator of how far along you are. Ultrasound is far more accurate.
Mine didn't make sense to me at all, I actually had only had sex once in like a 3 month time frame, and didn't see how it would be possible for me to have gotten pregnant, so when there was a "slip up" I didn't bother buying PlanB, because it should have been past my "window" .. My last period was also 11/24/12, which would have made me due 8/31/13 got a positive HPT on 1/2/13, measured bigger than I should have been at my first OB appt so they sent me for a sono, at which they gave me a due date of 9/9/13... Which was exact if using the date I conceived, which was 12/17/12.. Apparently my cycle was just all off..
Either way, good luck momma, honestly the baby is coming when the baby is coming, as long as you aren't worrying about pre-term labor, and the baby is healthy, I wouldn't worry about the "exact" due date, most women don't deliver right then anyways.
