Quoting kthx.:" I've never heard of using B, lol. But yeah, my mind was blown when he started teaching with GEMDAS  ... [snip!] ... GEMDAS  PEMDAS is cool for like... middle school. But once you get into higher levels of math, IMO.. GEMDAS works better."

I have not heard of GEMDAS before, I just finished pre-algebra but maybe I will see it in another math course. I have lots more to take *sigh* lol

I hadn't either, I see 2 ladies from Canada who use the B so maybe it's not an American thing.

I agree with GEMDAS being easier for higher level math though.

Whoops, I take it back... he was my math teacher junior year, for algebra. I took pre-calculus my senior year

I love math  I'm not too good with the calculus part anymore, since I've been out of school for a while... but I was majoring in middle school education with concentrations in math/social science. Once I'm taught a technique/way to work an equation... I finish the work in no time flat.

You're lucky! Get your ass back in school because people who are good at math have way better opportunities when it comes to careers. I'm struggling with pre-algebra but I haven't done any math really since I was like 13.

I have a love/hate relationship with math. I do very well (got an A) but there is just so much to remember. I had a very hard time with it back in high school and dreaded it once I went to college but the program that I use has been really helpful to me in understanding math. I will have to remember the GEMDAS though for my future math classes.

I didn't do too well in college math. Mainly because I needed the expensive calculator and couldn't afford it  So I had to do a lot it by hand and with a simple calculator... so it took me longer, opposed to those who had the better calculator.

You guys are really making me miss school

Be an actuary, they make great money!

Quoting kthx.:" I've never even thought of something like that. I'm gonna look into it :D "

It is an amazing job, if I was good with numbers that's what I'd be going to school for.
