I have been told to have a C- section with Twins! Becie Due September 29 (twins); 1 child; Australia 1 posts

I was told from the start at 10 weeks that I would be best to go C-section for twins, I really do not know what to think here as I have another child now 3 & had her naturally with out any drugs nor gas & had a very good birth. I was told by my midwife at the time it was as if I had had children before as this was my first. I can not see any reason to go C-section? There is nothing to my health nor medical reason to do so. I am a practical person & I will be coming home to a very busy life as i am rural & nor do I have any help there is just myself, so I would love thoughts on what other mothers can tell me is really the best option from there prospective!

I don't know much about twin pregnancies, but I do have a friend who delivered identical twin girls, vaginal birth, all natural with no medication.

I would wait it out, hopefully they grow and turn without complications. I would try and do a vaginal birth and if it doesn't happen opt for a c-sec.

I also have a friend who gave birth with no medicine to twin girls, the only reason they are telling you that is because sometimes when you have the first, the second one will flip to breach. I would just wait it out and see mama, you don't want one, therefore its absolutely unnecessary to have one unless needed

My mom had twins at the age of 38 at home and both were born breech. It can definitely happen!

there is no reason for you to have a C-section with twins.

you will deliver in the operating room though, for just in case,
even if the second child isn't head down and the first is, you deliver the first baby and the second more than likely will turn head down because of the extra room.

stand your ground and don't let doctors pressure you in to a C-section!!!!
*unless medically proven it would be better*
