This. I understood just straight up ice cold from the OP, though I could be wrong.

Pretty much this.
I'm thinking ice-cold showers.

ice cold abuse. not as warm and comfortable as they like and no toys to show its not fun time after they play in poop acceptable.

I wouldn't call it abusive for a cool shower, but that's also different from cold.

I agree.

Even taking a cold shower when the power is out sucks hardcore. Lukewarm with no toys is completely different.

To clarify, when someone says cold shower, I'm thinking ice cold when it makes you shiver.

The girl that OP is talking about specifically said a cool shower. To me that doesn't mean an ice cold shower.

but the case of the russian boy getting sauced and cold showered was doubly horrible bc at their orphanages they dont get fed enough get 0 interaction and they cant form attachments. there is a momma on here that told her story. the babies dont cry bc they know no one will come to them the older toddlers have potties tied to their leg until they learn to go by themselves so lots of children are covered in poop and have no clothes. most of the kids girls and boys have hair cut shot or shaved to prevent lice and maintence. its horrible. for that mom to adopt a kid from such a place and not research what she was getting into then saucing him for hoarding food for him and his brother is all kinds of fucked up

My oldest is 7 and takes his own showers. He knows that if he takes too long of a shower (he gets a timer and we also warn him when he's got 5 min left) that he'll get a cup of cold water tossed in the shower. It's only happened once that he's had that happen to him.

I'd never force him into a cold shower but I have no problem with the cup of cold water. Both DH and I had that happen to us when we were kids (the cup)

I answered yes, as in that is definitely abuse... not that I have ever done it. I never would, that is horrible.

That's what I'm thinking. You can't tell me sitting in a tub/shower of pain cold water isn't painful! If its just lukewarm water that's not so bad... Still don't see the point though...

I agree with this. My niece who is 9 (going on 10 this year) always wants to be the first to take a bath or shower, and she will take at least a 20min shower, and even longer bath. Even if her mom tells her it is time to get out she won't.

As for the cool shower thing, I could see it for pooping if you are going straight to the shower. But not or any other type of punishment. But I certainly wouldn't do it on a child under the age of 3. They have no clue what is right and wrong.

Wouldn't it br easier to just turn off the shower?
