Has anyone else got nervous when your DH co-slept with your children? Like the first couple times?
I trust DH, he just hasn't slept with a newborn in a while lol he thinks Idont trust him, which isn't the case..
Also, they aren't sleeping through the night like that.. they are just napping on the couch.
We co-slept as a family for the longest time. It never made me nervous. Now the kids take over the bed, and I'm on my own anyway, so it's just me... I'm nervous about my 2yr old when new babes are here Sept/Oct though.. He's the only one that still sleeps with me every night, my older two generally choose to sleep in their own rooms. On top of that, my youngest is a serious kicker and bed hog :S
I co-slept with my first until I had a friend who's baby died of SIDS and she co-slept. Made me nervous. They have really neat co-sleeper bassinets now. They are set up to allow you to connect them to the bed (one side has no wall) then you can co-sleep without the worry of rolling over on top of baby or baby getting caught in the balankets and pillows.
Maybe its because they are on the couch lol he just hasn't co slept a little baby in a long time. She's only 4 days old.. but we co slept our children up untill 3 and 4.. my 3 year old still randomly sleeps with us tho.
I really wouldn't worry about it.
I would worry he would drop her off the couch but in reality he was instantly awake at the baby's slightest movement. And in bed I always keep the baby between me and the wall because I would worry he would roll over on to him and not realize it. With all three kids it's never happened but I still try to prevent it with my youngest where I can. No harm in taking precautions :)
Quoting Mamas3(B's):" Has anyone else got nervous when your DH co-slept with your children? Like the first couple times? ... [snip!] ... trust him, which isn't the case.. Also, they aren't sleeping through the night like that.. they are just napping on the couch."
DD was teething REALLY bad a few nights ago, and was up every few hours. SO brought her to bed with us and as soon as he did I was in like stealth mode waiting for him or her to roll over. They slept perfectly still for an hour, I was still nervous about it, and she's 14 months. I was mainly nervous though because they are both restless sleepers (in the sense they both roll A LOT)
My husband has been sleeping with my daughter since night one because she's so noisy my anxiety prevents me from sleeping at all. She's next to him in a bassinet type thing that goes IN the bed.. looks like a doggie bed. I feel so rotten like i'm failing as a mother making him sleep with her. Idk what I'm gonna do when he goes back to work :?
