Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" So you probably hate the law that was signed into effect today?"

I was reading about that today! A lot of people are probably running out to buy magazines before July 1st just in case.

I'm from Pennsylvania and am for guns. I grew up around them. My father is a very big hunter and I hunted for quite a few years. Took a safety course and everything. I keep my .22 and 270 at my parents house though. I don't have a gun cabinet so I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping it in the house without them being properly locked up.

Quoting A Beautiful Disaster:" Id rather not post about my home alarm situation on the net. Emergency service can take a long time( ... [snip!] ... killing us all with his/her gun. Guns for defense makes NO sense to me AT ALL. Sport, yes, defense(unless you're a cop) no."

Sorry I was just kind of curious. I've always been in family where guns are for sport, for protection, and just because lol. So I guess I'm curious as to what would someone do if there was an intruder and they didn't have a gun. I'm ignorant to the other side of the debate

I'm in TX. I don't think I'd ever own a gun, but I am unbiased about others owning guns.

Quoting Mum to a Monster:" I live 100 yards from my local Police Station and it still takes 45 minutes for them to arrive at my house."

That is because if your service is good, the cops are out patrolling, not sitting at the station.

I would hate to depend on the police in my area. One night DH was in the field and some guy was banging on on door and ramming stuff into the door. The police get here an hour later. Then ask me why I didn't call sooner -_-. Then when I tell them I did they say "oh it took us that long". Then they say are your sure it wasn't a boyfriend or someone who your just angry with... I was livid.

I remember when I was about 15 there was a man walking around on our property and my dad was on his way home to check it out. The cops had already been called. My dad told me if he entered the house to light his ass up, aim for the torso. My dad beat the cops to our house.

Oh and my dad is a cop

Yes ma'am. I think the problem lies with the person behind the machinery not the machinery.. People wanting to buy high capacity magazines will just buy them out of state. ( more people die each year due to drunk drivers) I think our focus should be somewhere else. Though I think we should make it harder for convicted criminals and mentally unstable people to posses guns I don't think responsible gun owners should have to pay the price.
