I actually use ours for several things and rarely are they games.
We use ours as a DVD player, extra digital storage, and for all the apps.
I think you'll like it quite a bit!
(As for games, I do like Rock Band and Guitar Hero :))

Quoting Blythe.:" You should be able to have an xbox if you want one. Do you tell him that he can't buy certain things?"
No, lol. He's never wanted to buy anything I was opposed to either, though.

ooooh and for netflix too! haha
I'd get it. If you worked for the money, and it'll help you to tone up, and feel better about yourself (who doesn't feel better when they exercise). You can play it when the kids are napping or in bed.
Quoting Mayhem.:" I mean...that's hard, since my husband wouldn't turn down me buying an xbox  Uhm...I'd probably ... [snip!] ... Uhm...I'd probably just get myself new clothes, or save it for a few date nights or something. Go get my hair done. IDK  "
That's what I would normally do, but this is a nice amount of money, and I'd like to get something that's not temporary, something to enjoy for a while. He already takes us out on date nights, so I don't think he'd even allow me to pay for stuff like that, lol. He'd do it himself.

We use it for Amazon as well. We can watch free movies with our Prime account and they stream right to the Xbox.
Quoting Pusherman:" I meant when I buy him a gift and vice versa, lol. But idk if you don't think it will cause issues ... [snip!] ... between you guys then go for it. But expect him to do the same when he wants to get something that you don't want him to get."
 I know what you're saying. I was just soooo excited about it, because I never get to do things like this. I don't want to cause any tension between us either though. I just wish I could make him understand that we won't be obsessed with it like he assumes, and that I would keep gameplay to a minimum when the kids are up and use it mainly just when they're in bed, but he just won't accept my reasoning. :(
Quoting Mayhem.:" Maybe just sit him down and talk to him about it? Tell him you guys can come up with a plan for when ... [snip!] ... now the only person using it is DS. The thrill dies down pretty quickly  I can't imagine it causing issues in your home. "
Yes, he is in fact worried about himself getting obsessed with it, because our friend had it when we were roommates with him, and they played it ALL the time. And yes, I will talk to him more about ground rules for it so that there's no questions about it taking time away from the kids or each other. I mean, if he's firm on his stance after that, I guess I'll just accept it. I'm just not sure what else I can get that I'll really enjoy, because I DID want to get it for the game aspect too, I am a gamer with no game console, lol. But the kids take up so much of my time in the day, I can't see myself spending much time on it throughout the day until they're in bed. I really hope he'll come around before I get the money. If not I'll have to figure something else out, but I have no idea what.
I'd get it anyways and tell him to get over it honestly. I'll admit I've vetoed things that SO has wanted to buy, but NEVER because I didn't want him to have it, because we didn't have the finances at the time. If we had the extra money I wouldn't care a bit. Being afraid it would take time away from your family is one thing but saying he's going to be really mad if you buy it is a little ridiculous imo.
