I would find another pedi. They made a big deal about my DD not doing the pincher grasp at 9 months I can't imagine what they would have done ad she not been sitting up yet.

Not being able to sit up straight was one of my first predictors of a very serious illness in my son.

I would demand test, or atleast an OT working with him. Good luck OP

If you have an Early Intervention program in your area call them to set up an evaluation. They will do OT and PT with him in your home if you qualify.

You do have Early Intervention in your area called first steps. Here's the link:

wouldnt worry about crawling... babies often skip it and walk. not sitting is concerning though. if you put him on his butt... how long does he sit for?

If I sit him on his butt he usually topples forward within 1 minute. He can roll like nobody's business, but I sill find it very concerning that he can't sit with out me holding him in my lap in that position.

Yeah I'd say get a new pedi. That's not normal and needs to be looked at more carefully.

At about 8 months my daughter wasn't sitting up or anything either. Her pedi referred us to a at home physical therapist who was amazing, she taught us exercises to help her learn.

Just an update. Our pedi referred us to a local program called first steps which is in home therapy. He also referred us to a neurologist on July 19. Crossing my fingers that the neuro doesn't find anything too serious!
