When did you start the eviction process and how smoothly did it go? DD just turned one yesterday and i'm trying to decide if I should renew her lease for another year or get her her own bed :D.
My boys are 3 & 5. They only really started sleeping in their bunk beds this year as DS1 has started big school so I thought maybe it was time. Also, I'm due with #3 & as my boys are rough sleepers, unfortunately I can't have them still sleeping with us when bub comes. Occasionally they still sneak in for cuddles though but I don't mind!
I transitioned LO into his own bed at 9 months because he was waking a lot at night and I figured it was from my snoring. (I have apnea)
He did REALLY well. I rock him for a few minutes before putting him to bed, and then I lay him down when he's still awake. I make sure he's still awake because if he's asleep and wakes up it's traumatic. He needs to understand that its okay to fall asleep alone. For the first week I would lay him in his bed and continue singing to him while laying on the floor next to his crib. LOL. Then after that I would do the same, but I would leave the room before he was fully asleep and let him fall asleep on his own. If he would cry for more than 30 seconds I'd go back in and lay next to his bed and continue to leave before he was fully asleep until he fell asleep on his own. After that I'd feed him, rock him and lay him down and he would just fall asleep by himself without protest. I've found that having a fan on, a night light and calming music help immensely.
Aw let her keep sleeping with you lol my dd is 16 months and I love having her sleep with us :) we have a queen size bed and we took the front side off of the crib and put it next to the bed so we have a lot of extra room... Sometimes she will crawl over onto her crib and sometimes she sleeps in bed w us. I love it
My son turns 3 in April we have co slept sine day one we are trying to transition before the next baby arrives. We try and put him in his bed when he falls asleep which he usually falls asleep on the coach or cuddled with us on the bed. He will some nites sleep till the morning but most nights around 3-5 he climbs back in bed with us. I completely understand why he does it so I don't get upset waking up in weird surroundings your not used to sleeping in would freak me out too. I will just say its a process and unless your into letting them crying it out it will take some time.

Smart idea! I think I'm going to do that. Sharing a full size bed with my DD is not working very well anymore.
my daughters 3 and she's still in bed with me. but now that im pregnant, her dads been kicked out of bed. haha. im hoping to get her in her own bed before may ( due date) but now i'm having growing pains and finding it hard to let go of her. lol gotta be strong when your ready to do it but everyone does it on their own time!
