Oh, and I'm not sure if having siblings affected how many kids I wanted. I've always wanted 3 or 4, but I may have thought that with or without siblings.
But my siblings definantly affected how far apart I wanted mine. I did not plan for them to be SO close, but it is what it is and I'm glad they're so close and will be there for eachother. If I decided to have another in 5 years, I may decide to have another so they both have somebody closer in age, that's dependent on if we could afford it in the future. I may not have any more kids at all. We'll just have to wait and see.

Quoting 624582:" Stemming from my other post, kind of... For those of you who have a sibling or siblings, what is your ... [snip!] ... on how many children you have or plan to have? This really isn't D&D worthy, but I'm too lazy to change the section."

My relationship with my sister is pretty complicated. She is biologically my half sister but we have always considered each other as whole siblings. She is nine years younger than I am and while she was a child we were very close. I remember desperately wanting a sibling as a child and was thrilled when my sister was born. I too want very much for my own child to have a sibling but I physically will not be able to have more than one.

Once my sister got into her later teens and throughout much of her young adulthood she began acting out and did some pretty horrible things to my parents. I've held her at arm's length since because she has become a kind of person that's just very hard for me to have a relationship with, but things are getting better with her. That doesn't mean I love her any less though. I will also be eternally grateful to her for being my egg donor. Without them I would little chance of ever becoming a mother.

I have a brother that is 4 years older and a sister that is 4 years younger and we are all very close and were even as children. I was one of three and now I have three of my own which currently are as close as me and my siblings were. :)

I have 3 siblings... They are 8,7, and 4 1/2 years older than me... Growing up I didn't have much to do with my oldest sibling... The second one was like my second mom and would play with me all the time... And my brother who is 4 1/2 years older than me, well, we fought all the time. Apparently he was a cute little boy that was well behaved before I was born... Once I was born he became a wild child. Once I got older I became close with my oldest sibling... I always thought my family was a perfect size... So, I plan to have 4 kids.

my brother is 2 years older than me and my sister is 18 years younger than me. She is the same age as my 4 year old son. I am on my 4th child right now. I have always wanted a big family. My brother and I were very close growing up. My sister I barely see cause she lives 2000 miles away. I honestly forget I have a sister most of the time.

I have two brothers. They are 9 and 11 years apart from me, and 2 years apart from each other. So, we didn't really "grow up" together, but we've always gotten along great. They're both very protective over me, though I'm not sure if that has anything to do with how much older they are. Growing up I always looked up to them and now we're all good friends. I do think having siblings impacted how many kids I want to have. I definitely think it's important to have siblings, in most cases it's someone who will always be there for you, a friend, and someone you can turn to when things get rough. That's how it was for me, anyway. Although I plan to have my kids closer together.
