Stemming from my other post, kind of...

For those of you who have a sibling or siblings, what is your age gap and how close are you to them, and how close were you as children?

Do you feel like the amount of siblings you have has impacted your decision on how many children you have or plan to have?

This really isn't D&D worthy, but I'm too lazy to change the section.

My brother and I were 4ish years apart,
my kids are 5 years apart :)

We fought a bit as kids, but over silly stuff,
we didn't fight much as teens cos we both had our own things going on with that age gap.

I love that i had an older brother
and i love that my daughter has an older brother like i had.
It didn't impact my decision but i am happy about it cos of that.

There are six of us.
All from the same parents.. I have 3 step sibblings.. but they don't count.

My sister was a year older then me.. and my middle brother was 2 years younger then me. I was super close with both of them.

My other sibblings.. we don't have a closeness. The younger two are so close together, it's cute. My youngest brother is 13 and my youngest sister is 9.

Our ages are 26, 22, 21, 18, 14, 9 (some of these are almost ages)

Anyways.. it totally changes my ideas on children that I want.
We made out mother f**king crazy. I never want that.

i am the third of four children. My siblings were all brothers. i was not close to either of my older siblings. they 9 and 6 years older. my younger brother is 2 years younger and i was very close to him when we were little. for some reason NONE of us are very close now, we just dont have that kind of bond that alot of siblings have. It did not impact how many children i wanted. i grew up wanting like 10 kids but thats not happening anymore.

I have 2 sisters. I'm 21, middle sister is 19, youngest sister is 15.

My middle sister and I were super close growing up. Youngest sister... not so much. I mean of course we played with her and loved her, but my sister and I weren't as close with her as we are with each other. She and I are 22 months apart.

We were really close as very young children, didn't get along throughout high school years, lived 5000 miles apart and rarely talked throughout college years and are just starting to have an "adult relationship" now that we're in our mid-twenties.

ETA: I don't think my relationship with my twin has had any impact on my decision of how many children to have.

My brother and I are 3 years apart. We never really fought. My DD and DS are also 3 years apart (almost to the day), but the age gap between my brother and I didn't impact my decision at all. This baby and my youngest will be almost 2 years apart and my oldest will be almost 5 years older -- I hope they can all get along, haha.

First sister 16 years older - she's not in my life. Her kids are my age so I am close with them. More so when we were younger. I'd relate my nieces and nephews as my cousins. That's what our ages would make the most sense as.

Second sister 15 years older. She is my favorite sister, I babysat her youngest kids and now her oldest are old enough to baby sit mine. Her whole family is amazing. But she was more like an aunt, I guess you could say.

Third sister 8 years older- old enough to have friends and not give a shit about having little siblings. She's a drug addict and I'm not in contact.

Forth sister 4 years older. My dads daughter. We are just getting to know each other as adults. And she is amazing. Her family is sweet. I feel like I missed out not knowing her, but I guess everything happens for a reason.

Little brother 2.5 years younger. He was my friend. And we had a good relationship.

Having siblings so far apart has influenced me, in that I don't want a small family. I want 4 kids (have 3 currently). And love kids. But I do not want my kids to be more than two or three years apart each. If my oldest turns 7 and we don't have number 4 by then I'm not sure I would want to continue thinking about it or pursuing. I think I'd cave and let DH get fixed.

I am the oldest of brother and I are 4 years apart and my sister and I are 7 years apart. My brother and I were close growing up and I hated my sister lol. Now my sister and I are SUPER close!

My kids are all 18 months apart and I love the gap. I felt like as kids, my siblings and I were too far apart and always at such different places in our lives!

My half-brother (mother's side) is three years younger and my half-sister (father's side) is fourteen years younger. I'm not close to either of them. I grew up with my brother and never really considered him a "half-sibling" even though I could never really forget it (we were treated VERY differently). But our mother and his fuckshit father separated about a year and a half ago and he chose to live with his father and we don't see him much anymore. I didn't meet my little sister until I was 15 or 16 and we only see them maybe five times a year so we're not close. She's a cute kid, but between the weird relationship and the age difference, I doubt we'll ever be close.
It didn't influence the age gap between my children but definitely influenced me in other ways. I will never, ever have children with anyone but my husband. If we divorced tomorrow and I later met someone else, I would not have children with them. I'm not saying it's a bad decision for everyone, but I could not do it.

First off, I'm super jealous of everyone with siblings.

I have a brother, who is 3.5 years younger than me, but we don't really have a relationship. He didn't even know about me until he was 15 almost 16. :?

I feel like I was robbed, for a lack of better wording. In turn I feel like I have to give my son a sibling. I mean, I want another child, but that definitely plays a big role.
