Did you know that humans used to have an awake period in the middle of the night? They refereed to it as first sleep and second sleep. Its pretty natural for it to happen. We just fight it.

dd is 6 months and has slept thru the night from 9pm to 9am since 2 months. recently she started waking once to twice a week at about 2am. i too feed her solid but my doc recommended to try and not make a bad habit so to feed her last... change her, try rocking her, cuddle ext... then last give a bottle. the doc said if i give her a bottle every time she wakes at night it will become a problem and she will get used to it. he didnt say dont feed her just do it last.

I don't want to make it a habit of playing at 4am, because I have a 2&3 year old to also take care of all day long.

Your baby only gets one bottle a day??

Quoting Laura [Syltherin]:" Have you thought about pushing their bedtime back a little and including a before bed snack? Giving them a bit more baby food before bed might do the trick."

I'd like to keep them going to bed at 8 since daddy works nights and I like to have them in bed before he leaves. They have their baby food at 6:30, and last bottle at 8

An ounce, maybe 2.

They could be thirsty, I guess.

I personally like that my babies still nurse at night until late (DD#1 still night nursed until after 2). It decreases the chance of SIDS.

ITs very possible, so they pick up bottles and drink? can you leave a bottle of water in the crib with an oz or two?

how does your routine go when you wake up with them? When my son woke for a morning bottle i wouldnt talk to him at all..i'd just take him out of his crib lay him in my bed, not turn on any lights, and he'd suck his bottle down as hes still all sleepy, i'd change his diaper as he was eating and once he was done put him right back in the crib and turn on his music/ceiling projector.
However with 2 I can see how it may be more difficult.

Only downside to having 4 kids within 3 years.. you have to sleep to be able to give them what they need. ;) We'll get a hang of it. Soon they'll be crawling, I'm sure they'll wear themselves out better.
