What is silly about being outgunned?
How do you know a good guy doesn't need a badass gun?

Uhhhhh, which is amending the constitution. Glad that you think a bill that will do nothing is a good idea.

outgunned?

i just think it is silly for your average citizen to have a gun that shoots 100 bullets in 2 seconds or whatever.
i'm all for the right to bear arms but when gun culture becomes so "cool" and pervasive that these fucked up kids end up go right to them --and have easier access to blowing off the heads of 20 kids in 2 minutes... it's time to stop lauding ownership of these crazy rifles whether or not criminals will illegally obtain them or not.

i'm not deluded into thinking gang members and criminals won't still have access to banned guns but that's not really what this is about. Most of us arent' walking the streets with rifles slung over our shoulders.

Can't please everyone.

AND...

What rights are gays giving up, that cannot be changed SOLELY for them?

Marriage is NOT a basic human right.

Some of the things I want are not protected.

Nice way to side step what I said.

As far as "gay rights", what is not protected about their basic human rights? Tell me. How could government change things for that SPECIAL CLASS of people?

Or do you just want to throw out "typical republican" without addressing the debatable issues.

Typical Liberal. :D

2% of gun deaths are from these "military -style weapons." The issue is not the type of gun. It's mental illness.

Wait....so, explain why American citizens who are homosexual aren't able to access to the same rights as everyone else? What makes them a "special class" of people?

Which rights? Be specific.

According to our own government, homosexuals are a special (protected) class of people. You didn't know that?

And, this is very much about criminals having illegal weapons. There are other aspects of the argument, but that aspect is HUGE.

Homosexuality puts you in a special, protected class.

Yep. But they ARE a protected class of people. Government views them as "special".

Gays have the same rights that I do. Marriage is not a "basic human right". Marriage to anyone you choose definitely is not a basic human right.

I can marry Bob. A lesbian woman can marry Bob...she just can't marry Jane. I can't marry Jane, either.

Homosexuals could EASILY be protected, under the law in cases of civil issues, with a swipe of a pen. They don't have to be granted a marriage license to be protected under civil law, same as their heterosexual counterparts.
