When did your LO start smiling? And I don't mean in their sleep.
I've read that smiling in infants have nothing to do with gas. I was talking to DD who is 4 weeks tomorrow & she smiled at me. She's done it a few times if I'm talking to her. Just curious to see what you all think or when your LO started? I can't be bothered to dig our DD1's baby book right now to see when she started lol :)
i remember his first real smile being when he was just about to turn 3 months
My son has been smiling since he was a week old, he giggles too. Kind of. I mean, not like laughs but a little hehehe here & there. Lol. He is 3 weeks & 4 days old. He smiles a lot while BF & when I talk to him. I hear they are involuntary, but it just seems like he does it at the perfect moments. :)
First noticeable smiles and not just kinda smirking were around 2 months.
Mine pretty much came out of the womb smiling. Doctor tried telling me it was gas smiles at her 1 week, until he was checking her hips and I was talking to her, then she smiled really big. He goes, wow...that was a social smile!
Yeah doc, I know. :)

Lol right?? DD's smiles are big & she only seems to do it if I'm in her face talking to her <3
My son turned 3 weeks yesterday and he did it yesterday and today when I was talking face to face with him....so cute!
Dexters first smile was when he was 28days old! Now he smiles and giggles most of the day! It's amazing. Such a happy boy!. x
Mine is 3 weeks and has been giving me little smirks for the past week or so when I talk to her...DH kept telling me she was smiling and I didn't believe him. I told him it was just gas until I saw it for myself. They're not full smiles but you can definitely tell she's happy and it's always in response to one of us talking to/smiling at her.
I've got pictures of DD smiling at 10 hours old and they are when i was talking to her... everyone keeps saying "oh it's gas, she's not actually smiling" but she is sooo aware of everything even at just over 3 weeks old! we blow raspberries on her face and she smiles at us and puts her hands to her face like "oooh leave me alone you guys" haha so cute!

DD likes when we do the bicycle with her...that always get a smile :)
DD seems to like it when I high pitch baby talk to her lol eeeee it's so precious. Last week I had her smiling everytime I jiggled her hands quickly.
Everyone always gives me hell when I say this but our LO smiled the day she was born. Doctors saw it and we have photos. Gas, reflex, whatever - it was a smile. As far as smiling socially, that came sometime around 4 - 5 weeks.
