Ever feel... plain? Ellie. 2 kids; Arizona 25443 posts

Not physically, but just in life?

Everyone I know is good at something. Sewing, making bows, taking pictures, painting, etc. I try and I fail, and I just feel.... ordinary. Like nothing special.

I know I'm special to my family, but ever just want to be able to do more?

I do. I don't have one niche. I am ok at lots of things. But I'm not awesome at anything :(

Yes! I have no "hobbies". I'm not really good at anything :/
I know exactly what you're talking about. I've thought about this many times.

But I do get what your saying. I love taking pictures but feel I'm not up to par like most people. I have not a clue how to sew, crochet or really make anything lol.

I feel like this all the time. The one thing I can do easily is get pregnant. Lol. But as far as crafts or photography or anything like that, I have zero talent for anything.

I have accepted my plainness and I'm OK with it lol. It stopped bothering me some time ago. I don't really know why... I guess in the long run it doesn't really matter who's good at what and doesn't change anyone's life that greatly.

<3 Thank you. :) I definitely feel like you do though, that I'm not on par. And At the moment, I'm not passionate enough about it to do all the work that comes with it, no matter how much I love to take them. The editing, selling, marketing. I dont have time or energy for that

I'm not good at anything. Of course I don't try anything because of my anxiety. Feel like I will suck and fail even before I do anything.

I'm very crafty and actually have a home buisness selling things I make so in that I don't feel plain. In other aspects I do feel plain compared to other women of my age. There are a lot of things I don't do that most women around me do. For example I've always been the "good girl," don't drink alcohol, no smoking, and never partied it up. I concentrated on school, getting a degree and so forth. I have always felt so plain socially in that way. Like I have zero wild stories from college like everyone else seems to.

If you have the desire to find something new to excel at keep searching!! If you don't have the desire to do so there is certainly nothing wrong with that but don't give up if you really want to find something new to be passionate about and do well at. I am super crafty and artistic and things come really easy to me. My best friend doesn't have the same sort of natural aptitude but she puts a little effort into learning how to do something and pretty quickly she'll be just as good as I am. Craftiness CAN be taught lol. Look into taking classes. Practice a lot and don't give up right away if something doesn't turn out right the first time.
