Quoting Blue Song:" Just out of curiousity...what's your opinion on their being a connection between the Black Dahlia case ... [snip!] ... the Black Dahlia case and the Lipstick murders? That's a pretty popular theory, and in my mind, very plausible... "

Possibly. The Lipstick Killer just died this year, too. And what do you know, from CHICAGO!... The Black Dahlia murder was in California. If he traveled a lot, it could have led him to Hollywood somehow. Do you remember what The Lipstick Killer's profession was?

He was an usher at the university he attended, I believe...

But get this one..The last person the Lipstick Killer killed was a 6 year old girl named Suzanne Degnan.

Elizabeth Short (Black Dahlia) was found on the corner of Degnan Boulevard.

I read they WERE all over the place on that poor case. Too may suspects, like torturing them and tons of confessions. Craziness.

I did my thesis (BS in Criminal Justice) in college on Serial Killers and there is definitely a link between animal abuse and serial killers...It is a major red flag and the one factor most serial killers have in common.
Btw, my favorite is PeeWee Gaskin. A lot of people don't know about him but anywho...Charles Manson would be a close second although he never lifted a finger to murder anyone. He is a prime example of how easily it is to become "brainwashed" and follow the wrong crowd.

I did a speech in college on Jeffrey Dahmer... Got an A on it, but the professor was less than interested. ;)

My favorites are Ted Bundy and The Servant Girl Annihilator. The connection between the latter and Jack the Ripper is fascinating.

I personally think there are two types of serial killers. One that is your typical bed wetter, animal killer, and pyro. The other is the kind that could have been and likely is the typical high powered CEO of a company/police officer/military man. Someone that gets off on the power and enjoys more the chase and planning than the actual killing.

About the middle name Wayne- also this:

"Ms. Stewart has an unusual hobby: clipping newspaper articles of a particular ilk. She sent me xeroxs of her most recent finds. All of these clippings were from The Dallas News, from February 2006 to the present (this article was written Sept 2006). The articles had two things in common: (1) all of them were stories reporting on crimes, and (2) the perpetrator

I'm sorry you had to experience that. :(
I can relate though.
I come from a small family on my mother's side (my mom, her two siblings and two cousins; one cousin committed suicide which coincidentally is my uncle's son...and that's it) and my uncle is a paranoid schizophrenic. He wasn't like that until he came back from Vietnam. He takes over 14 medications twice daily-- mostly anti-psychotics--and has several different personalities. He's Unk when he's cool, jokes and laughs, Edward, the laid back potsmoker who reminisces about the war and Bill, which is the nonsocial, short answering wild-eyed personality.
Usually one look in his eyes says it all, of which "person" you're speaking to that day...or if you ask a question and he gives you short, harsh answers, it's time to go!
I was a kid when he flipped out on my great-grandmother, his grandmother, during a holiday get-together, attacking and almost killing her. It took my mom, dad (who is a BIG man), my aunt, grandmother and two more visiting relatives to pull him off of her. That is still etched into my memory...

Definitely. Especially when they start harming animals. That is a huge red flag that something is not right in the head.

I've heard of the triad as well.
