I have a horrid unnatural fear of the dark and all things that go bump in the night. Childish I know, but I've been like this as long as I can remember. There are some nights where I can't even walk into my room at night without heart palpitations and having a borderline panic attack. With DH leaving for RTC in March my anxiety about being alone at night is getting worse. So much so I've noticed my anxiety is making DD anxious at night too. Suddenly at 20 months old she needs a night light and music on or she wakes up screaming when she was never like this until about two weeks ago.
So my questions are, can a therapist help with this? Will insurance cover seeing the thereapist?
Absolutely. I had to go to a therapist for anxiety because I am deathly afraid of thunderstorms and all things associated with them. (heavy rain, wind, hail, lighting, tornados). They put me on medicine and did counseling and it did help a lot.
