Just so every one is aware, I respect every persons choice to have the birth they want. Rather its all natural or you get help with the pain, what ever makes you happy, great!!
I was 41 weeks and 3 days. I was so ready to have my baby. My friends suggested a labor cake which is basically a chocolate cake jacked up on steriods. lol I dont think it was the reason but oh my god, it was great! The next day I woke up to an achy back with mild, irregular contractions. When my husband came home at 5:30 that night for some reason they started becoming more consistent, painful and closer together. It was like a switch flipped. We power cleaned the house, called my dad, i took a shower and we were off.
On our way to the hospital, my contractions were.so strong. I could talk through them but they were starting to hurt more. So we finally get there after we missed a turn and I tried talking to my dad on the phonr but I couldnt. I just asked where he was and then I couldnt follow the conversation because of my contraction. So i hung up. We get to labor and delivery. They offered me a place to sit, I said no. I wanted to walk around. My husband kept trying to get me a wheel chair, like what the f**k. lol Every time we go to the hospital he always tries to get me one. lol and then we end up arguing because i dont want one but he so badly wants to get me one.
So we get back there, they put me in the doctors.lounge where they had a bed. Triage was full. My husband was back there with our son, my father wasnt there yet. They check e and im barely a three. I didnt understand how it could hurt so bad at 3 cm when with my first i went to a five and and was still laughing. I was really irritated. I kept telling my husband to rub my back. I needed him to focus on me while he was juggling our two year old son. I had to keep peeing and everyone was so busy that i just unhooked the machine ans went. Came back and justleaned against the back of the bed on all four, breathing through the contractions. My back hurt so bad and the front part of my hips (pubic bone area) was on fire. They took forever to get back to me and i never did hook back up the machines. lol My dad finally did show up as i was yelling at ojay, "my back, my back".
They took me to the room and then left. I walked around, peed more. Ojay was on the phone with his mom and i yelled at him to get off. i could hear his mom laughing. Lol Then he started laughing. I told him it wasnt funny. I cried a little, i yelled my back again. he came to rub it, i got an intense contraction and then grabbed his hands from behind me. i kinda moaned through it and then he yelled because i was crushing his hands. lol I asked about the epideral when i finally saw the nurse, she said it had to be ordered by the doctor. i had the on call doctor. They were trying to get a hold of her. uhhh. i cried, i told ojay i dont think i can do this all natural. they checked me, i was a 5. I kept thinking, why does this hurt so much this time? The nurse was super nice. Her name was jennifer phillips and she from Trinidad with a thick accent. I had to get into the bed to be hooked up on the monitors. I keot tightening up with the contractions and she would remind me to drop my shoulder, relax my hips and breath. I kept moaning through the contractions, she kept reminding me. She was better than my husband. lol She gave me a sedative, sertol or something. It kicked in super fast and it allowed me to relax a little. It really calmed my anxiety. It give me a chance to talk to her. She was so nice. I was scared because of the whole not having doctor. I was really blessed to have her. God really did answer my prayers. She was everything i needed and wanted in my nurse. They came to give the epideral and she comforted me. It didnt hurt but it was really uncomfortable. I scream women warrior into my pillow, over and over again. lol
After the epi, they laid me down. i tried to lay up and she said not to. That yhe medicine has to spread out and people that sit up too soon only have it on one side. So i laid back, tried to relax. They checked me atn hour later and i was 9 cm. I went from a five to 9 in one hour. The epi relaxed me enough. No cath. no pit either. I made it a point to tell them i didnt want pit unless absolutely needed. but i was ready so fast. So the doctor comes in, tells me they are going to break my water. They flip me and it breaks by itself. She drops down to +2 and im fully dilated. They put me up i push three times and shes out at.3:01 am. The doctor did hold her upside down by her feet, i didnt get that part... but everyone was quiet. She cried ans people were like aww. she was big. 8.7 lbs **when i pushed, I did NOT feel anything... absolutely nothing...
She was in perfect health, i got to feed her for an hour and a half while they went an delivered some more babies. there was 6 babies born that night. She is a breastfeeding champ, instant perfect latch. :) She is so relaxed and calm.
But what is a chocolate cake on steriods lol

lol ya sour cream threw me off. it was a lot of chocolate... lol
The wheel chair part was too cute!
I could really imagine fussing at my husband for trying to make me sit in a wheel chair, being on the phone, and yelling to rub my back (Hell, I do that now (: lol)
This is exactly how I want my delivery to go, Not feel a thing when I push!
