When did you stop tucking your kid in?
Not toddler, not infant, kid. Like...I guess 5+ ?

DS lately has just gone to bed on his own and said he doesn't need to be tucked in or that he tucks himself in. I usually do it anyway...but now I'm not sure if I'm doing it more for me or for him

Anyway, is there a good time to stop? If he wants me to, I mean. Or should iI keep insisting on doing it?

He's 5 1/2, BTW.

I'm not sure, because I haven't been there yet. But My mom and dad stopped tucking me in when I was 5 or 6. I'll probably wait to see if my children want me to stop. I like tucking in. :)

My dd is 5 and is ok with it still. I guess if sHe specifically asked me not to I would just give her hugs and kisses before she went off to bed.

I would do it until they move out lol. However, my son just turned 3 and will put himself in bed now. He's even told me he can cover himself up:cry:

We tuck all the kids in, even the 9 year old. Sometimes my 3 year old is like "go away!" lol, but not very often.

The nights we dont tuck him in, we still read and pray with him, just in the living room. Its just sad that he doesn't care now if we do it of not!

Would you stop doing it if she wanted you to?
That's my dilemma :?

My oldest son is eight and he still asks me "Are you coming?" So I guess when he says he doesn't want me to come say prayers with him I'll stop. It will probably be the saddest day of my life. He's my ace.

Lol ya mine is a monkey miss independent and ever since she learned to read she does that at bed time to know. Her and her older sister take turns reading at bed time. I'm not allowed in the room. Lol

Deans 6 1/2 I haven't tucked him in since he was almost 5, he goes to bed on his own, and I go in and give him a kiss, tell him goodnight, see him in the morning...
