Quoting Leisurely Duchess:" Lol diabeetus, threat to society "

wow, lol, that's interesting! Although, I'm not just talking about causing deaths. I'm talking about all the medical treatments that are now having to be done more because of things like these. Also, it's just gotta suck to be over weight with knee and back problems, etc. I know thin people have all those problems too, but the added 100 lbs has really gotta suck. Plus, being an xray tech, it's so much harder doing exams on obese patients. Especially when we have to lift them. Not to mention the extra radiation they're recieving because of all the adipose tissue. Anyway, we're not really arguing, lol. All your points are valid!

lol, whatever! I have a lot more empathy for people with medical issues now. Since I was pregnant and experienced AR, constipation, back aches, etc. it really opened my eyes to how much some people have to deal with. It's just sad when it's self inflicted. Like pain killers, how could anyone get addicted to them knowing they constipate you so much!! omg, that was one of my worst pregnancy symptoms :(

You're hilarious. "I try not to judge fat people" which means you really do. That's why you thought diabeetus was a "prevalent" threat to society, fat people is something you linger on. :D

Like, omg, how do people get addicted to pain killers after being on them for months from a serious spinal injury or something? This is so mysterious!

I do judge, I just think twice about it when I do. It's human nature to judge what is different from us. I just know the number of people with diabetes has gone up, and so has the number of obese people, and being obese is a risk factor associated with diabetes.....

First true thing you've said pretty much in the whole thread.

We also judge that which is familiar to us.

Quoting Colt's mommy:" What do you think of this mannquin? Are you "offended" by it? It was posted on my FB page and there's ... [snip!] ... to their demographic though. I am not offended by this, nor will I probably think about it again after this discussion, lol. "

No, why would I be?
Most of our population is overweight/obese. Why is it offensive to cater to the general population?
Big people need clothes too...
