im black.. and i have this black friend on facebook, who i dont delete because she is a long time friend of my family
but every day she posts something about how racism is still alive and how we need to get up and take what is ours because white wont give us what they owe us....
\ IVE HAD ENOUGH...... i cant take her posts anymore
backwards racism is still racism.... acting like you are BETTER because you are black.. IS STILL RACISM... ... as most everyone knows... i have a white baby and a white husband, and im tired of people not realizing... white people owe us nothing... it is our jobs to get up and get it ourselves.... YES racism still exists.. but only because we ENOURAGE it.... with our noses up in the air pretending like white put us through so much....
news flash people ... I was not a slave..YOU were not a slave....your neighbor was not a slave owner.....

i believe that we should do as much as possible to prevent racism, without causing more of it in the process

affirmative action- i dont want a job because im black and you need to fill a slot...

i turned down a college scholarship because the only reason they wanted me was that i was black and they didnt have enough blacks in the theater program....

i dont want my son growing up in a world were black skin means you feel entitled to something
and since he is half black and half white.. i dont want him to grow up resenting either side of his heritage......

whats wrong with people
whats wrong with her...

i mean a post here and there would be fine... but every danged day... twice a day... GET OFF OF MY TIMELINE!!!!

Unsubscribe and live your life. I have a friend who does this too but the one time I said something to her she flipped the f**k and called me a racist and bigot because I'm white and got sick of hearing the "truth".

OMG I so totally agree! My hometown there were alot of people that would pull the racism card all the time... It wasn't because the person they were talking to was being racist, it was because they were being stupid!!! They can't realize that it's fine to dislike someone because of their attitude, it doesn't make them a racist. I'm half white and half hispanic, and I know people of every single race that I dislike and it has nothing to do with their skin tone.

I'm so happy that someone else sees it that way! I would counter her attacks every time. I'm white/Cherokee/Indian. I'm technically a part of the Cherokee nation because my grandfather is part Cherokee lol I don't run around like that either. I hate righteous ANYTHING, especially racist righteous people. Slavery ended 150 something years ago.. That's way too many generations to say white people owe you something because 150+ years ago your ancestors were slaves. That is definitely backwards. We today have never enslaved a race.. I don't get the "reasoning" behind people like this.

I agree with this 100%. Maybe if more people felt this way, there would be less racism in the world. Too bad more people could not let the color of someone's skin blind them to things.

You seriously think that the only reason people are racist is because the people they are being racist toward encourage it?
There is no excuse for racism. None.

I can't say much about her.
And in fact, I agree that anyone who constantly points the finger and blames another race for ALL of their problems is going about trying to fix racism is the wrong way. But no one I know that speaks openly about racism does so because they feel they are "entitled" to anything. Unless you believe that wanting to be treated as an equal is entitlement.

Quoting Jas ♥:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Crystallized:</b>" You seriously think that the only reason ... [snip!] ... equal is entitlement."</blockquote> This girl OP is talking about clearly feels like white people owe her something."

I know, and I agreed with her that this is wrong and she's going about addressing racism the wrong way.
I was addressing this:
"YES racism still exists.. but only because we ENOURAGE it.... with our noses up in the air pretending like white put us through so much.... "

Quoting ★Bαtgirl:" Did you really read what she said? What the girl this OP is talking about, was that white people owe her something for all the shit in the past. "

Yes, I read exactly what she said.
And I said I agree with her.
But I disagree with the fact that she said it ONLY happens because we act this way.

to be perfectly honest... yes....
because we are equal...
there are just as many blacks who hate whites as there are whites who hate black.....

where im from there are business that prefer you too be black
we talk down on white people but get upset if they do the same about us....

we are very equal... we both have flaws
we both can spew the filthiest and most racist things out of our mouths
and whether we admit it or not we both are capable of the kind of hate that will set us back alot farther than we have ever come....

our PRESIDENT is black (Partly) if that doesnt show you that we are equal then nothing ever will.....

We're probably going to have to agree to disagree.

Geography makes a heck of a difference.
I live in Maryland, one of the most liberal states in the country, and it's still evident here that some people are racist simply because they want to be.

An example:
My fiance' was followed and pulled over 4 times this year in Columbia while driving out of his apt complex by the same officer. The first two times he said it was to make sure he belonged there. The third time he asked him if he was a drug dealer. The fourth time he searched his car. His minority friends have complained about the same thing going on in the surrounding area. His white friends have never had it happen to them.

My dad works for Amtrak and one of the station masters frequently refers to minority employees as n****rs when he thinks they can't hear them.

He wasn't a new face in the complex. He isn't a drug dealer. He doesn't look or dress like a stereotypical "thug". He doesn't complain and yell and moan about how white people owe him anything. Neither does my father.

This isn't a race war. It's not about saying that black people and minorities can't have racist ideals.

My point is that to say that black people only experience racism because they have encouraged it is a huge, gross, misunderstanding. And either way, anyone with common sense should know that a few people in an entire race don't speak for the majority. If a white woman runs down the street yelling "dumb n****rs", why should I then use that as an excuse to be racist against any white person I encounter?
