So I'm exclusively breastfeeding....my daughter is 3 weeks old and I have already dropped 23lbs!! I'm hoping it keeps up as I want to lose 60lbs by my birthday at the end of May.....anyone have any advice on how to keep the weight falling off? I'm walking here and there but haven't been cleared for exercise yet(Nov 7th is my appointment)
You loose quite a bit taking care of baby in general, just make sure you are drinking enough water and getting enough calories.
I lost my 40 pounds by the 6 week check up after I had LO, and I wasn't even breast feeding because we had both been in and out of the hospital.
about 9 months after I had my daughter I was the thinnest I had been in years! At 9 months preggo, I was 172 and at my smallest I was 123. Breast Feeding was amazing for weight loss, for me the weight just melted off. I did not really work out much, I just walked every day, and stayed busy. I did not stay 123 for long after I stopped bf, but I kept most of the weight off for a year, then I went on mirena and it all went to hell :( Anyway, keep breast feeding and stay active, and you should be great!
Quoting Nicolai and Caelyn's mom:" So I'm exclusively breastfeeding....my daughter is 3 weeks old and I have already dropped 23lbs!! I'm ... [snip!] ... to keep the weight falling off? I'm walking here and there but haven't been cleared for exercise yet(Nov 7th is my appointment)"
You don't need to necessarily exercise. Breastfeeding and walking once or twice a day did it for me. Babies love fresh air too, so it's nice to get out for a walk AT LEAST once a day. And I gained 70 lbs during pregnancy!!!
Without exercising it will be nearly impossible to lose/maintain weight. I love running. I lost 68lbs by the time DS was 9 months old and never gained any weight back after that.
