Recipes? I'm going to be using skim milk and low fat cheeses, just want a good recipe. :) Preferably one that doesnt taste "healthy".

I use gluten free rice pasta and then I take cream and butter and heat it on the stove and then when it gets hot enough you add cheddar. I don't measure I just eyeball it. It is a recipe I got from my nutrition doctor. It's more about whole foods, not low fat.



You could try your milk with some butter (or I can't believe it's not butter lol) and then add your low fat cheese.

This, whole foods. I wouldn't use skim or low fat cheeses. They go through the most processing to get to that point. It depends on what your "healthy" means. To me, healthy means whole, unprocessed foods balanced together.

I make a bechamel sauce ( flour, butter and milk) then add my cheese.
Cook pasta
Poor sauce over
Put in the oven and add more cheese.



You can add chicken and brocoli to make it very yummy haha

How much butter do you usually use? I'm limited on butter today, can I substitute with anything?

I'm not a huge fan of it either. I buy skim because it's all SO drinks. I just started buying lowfat cheeses because they dont taste much different to me, figured I would try it out.

I use 3-4 Tbsp... about half a stick give or take. I don't know if you could use olive oil or something like that maybe? It would add a distinctive flavor if you did and some people might not like that.... but if you are using garlic too it might be pretty good...

I'm wondering if veggie oil might be a little less pungent? Like just use a splash.

That sounds pretty damn good to me! We are having a ham steak with the mac tonight :) I wish I had some asparagus :(

My son won't eat cooked onions but he loves to munch on the raw... He'll sneak pieces of it when I'm cutting them up lol

Seriously? I wish my family liked onions, I love them in and on anything!
