So I was watching the season premiere of The Walking Dead last night, and at the end they showed a commercial for this 5K obstacle course, infested with "zombies". Kind of curious, I looked it up today and it just sounds like SOOOO much fun! And the best part, they are doing one next May like 20 minutes from my house. I seriously want to do this so badly, but ive never run a 5K and while I do exercise I know im still not in the best of shape to run nonstop like that. I exercise maybe 2-3 times a week now, but really want to get in the best shape to do this race! Im trying to get some of my friends interested in doing it with me and training with me, but that leads me to my question. Whats the best way to train for something like this? Just run a lot? Its an obstacle course as well as just a race so im not sure exactly how to train for something like that lol
So anyone who has ran a 5K, 10K, etc, how did you train and how long did you train for?

Your topic made me start singing Iron Maiden and now it's stuck in my head.

I didn't do the actual running, I was a zombie stumbler. I just chased the runners... LOL

I just signed up for my first 5k a couple weeks ago. So far I've been walking my oldest to school and once it cools off, we'll walk home. There is a circle park by my house that I will be running, just need running shoes!

Oh that sounds like fun too though. Im tempted to do both, run the race then be a zombie for the next wave of runners once im all haggard from running haha:lol:

If you pay to be a runner, you can come back at one of the later races and be a zombie for free I believe.
