Whooa, calm ya farm OP !!
People are just giving you their advice and that's a big fat shit coated NO not a good idea... hold in there, it's better for baby to be in for as long as it needs.
Quoting Whitney Marie Ainscough:" IM 38 WEEKS ON THURSDAY AND THINKING OF TAKING CASTOR OIL DUE TO LOTS OF PREGNANCY PROBLEMS AND I FEEL THAT IM READY NOW... HAS ANYONE ELSE TAKEN THIS TO INDUCE LABOUR? X"
dont do it, it can make baby poop meconium inside you and cause infection also it will make you sick and have the shits. if your ready it doesnt matter your baby clearly isnt they will come when they are ready.
Quoting Vanilla MILFshake.:" Pain, it's part of life. If you are hurting like that from a car crash, then you will more than likely ... [snip!] ... stupid and you shouldn't do it. You should really stop typing in all caps, it f**ks with my eyes when I try to read it. "
Yeah, car crash injuries aren't going to go away when you have the baby, & guess what? You will have to be moving around and doing things when the baby is here, so i think you should enjoy being pregnant and being able to lay down as long as you want!!
Posting a comment about taking that crap on here is meant to get rude comments, you have women on here 39+ weeks and having complications who are simply just s*****g it up and waiting. By all means we aren't you & can't tell you what to do so drink away if you want to, that's on you when your giving birth and shitting all on yourself. And if you would read it pregnancy issues on this site you could have found your answer over 15 people in a week ask the same one.... SMH.....
1) refrain from typing in all caps
2) refrain from typing in bold and in all caps
3) just because your mother used castor oil doesn't mean it's smart. It's actually really stupid and didn't you say you've already had complications? Well, castor oil can give you even more complications......seems pretty obvious to me. Your 38 weeks, I think you will live.

Babies born without using castor oil to induce labor can still pass meconium in the womb.
Babies born after castor oil labor induction are still often born without passing meconium in the womb.
No well documented study has linked meconium and castor oil labor induction or proven that laxatives can pass through the placenta in any form.
One theory is that anything that effects the mother in a certain way during pregnancy has the same effect on the baby. Diarrhea is one of the main side effects of castor oil.
Approximately 57% of women who take castor oil go into labor. Remember this is a statistic only and may not take into account how far along they were or other conditions.
OP be happy you are considered term. My friend has been on bed rest since 28 weeks due to early labor & she is trying to keep that baby in there so it can develop. Hers will obviously come early, but that isn't by her choice!
I tried it when my mother-in-law suggested it. She's all about home-remedies (that almost never work for me). This one didn't work for me either. I just had horrible diarrhea and cramping associated with that. This is just another old-wives tail.
By the way, OP, just reading this post made me have to shit!!!
Imagine if you actually drank it!!!
Good lord, you people are so freakin harsh...It was just an honest question looking for an honest answer not rude remarks...grow up! Anyway, the fact is this, castor oil will not help you go into labor any faster is the baby is not ready...end of story. What will most likely happen is you will have contraction like cramps and a horrendous case of the runs...but no baby. Your mom got lucky because baby just so happened to be ready (pure dumb luck). I strongly advise against it. I'm telling you this from experience, I was 21 when I had my daughter and a family member talked me into it. Talk about young, and stupid!! It was painful and only resulted in a waste of a hospital visit. My advice is talk to you OB, ask about inducing at 39 weeks if you are in that much discomfort. If she feels it is safe she shouldn't have too much issue with that. Good luck!!
it does work as it worked fine for my mum, if your cervix is enfanced and dialating more chance of working im daialating and losssing my plug if it doesnt work then i know and to the people who think im taking it now im not! i am going to try this on thursday!

Yeah, I would gladly have been in pain and miserable if I could have made it to term at least, rather than have to deliver at 34 weeks for REAL pregnancy problems that literally almost killed me and DD.

I had LO at 37w4d. I don't know why. He just wanted to come out. I didn't do anything. I was 3cm at my 37 week appointment, & i had him the next day.
Is DD okay now? Everything perfect with her?
