My daughter was born in feb. at childrens hospital in wisconsin. The docs. found out she had A VSD and aortic coarctation while she was still in the womb.. The coarc. healed by itself a few days after she was born. They thought she was going to need surgery right away. She was in the NICU for a lil over a week. Sent home. she went to cardiologist every week then every two weeks now its once a month. She is going to be 5 months old on the 13th. When she was born they said they would need to do surgery when she was 4 months. Now they say they may wait till fall, or possibly longer/never if it closes on its own. (she has very large VSD)

Quoting Ailey+Lennon+Renner's Mom:" none of that is applicable with kids with a CHD. you dont have to fill out any questionairs or anything ... [snip!] ... or anything http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/resources/social-security-disability-coverage/congenital-heart-disease.htm"
that was directly for the SSI website sorry. She may need to hire an attourney then,
Also that link says :
First, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will make sure you meet the general disability eligibility requirements, and then it will look to see if your congenital heart disease meets or "equals" (is roughly equivalent to) one of the qualifying conditions established in the SSA's Listing of Impairments.
