Quoting lolajessup:" Oh and also my mom got some cotton cloths in the car section at the dollar store 5/$1. I bought 8 microfiber ... [snip!] ... work great. I sewed some together so it's easier. Or I use just the cotton piece. Or use the microfiber as extra in pockets."

Quoting Moses.:" You can get the trash can for under $5. A small 5 gallon can will do :) And $200 can get you a decent ... [snip!] ... lot. I just bought 2 EUC duo wraps for $12 shipped! And for detergent, Eco's is available at Wal Mart and is decently priced :)"

well I read that NB alvas run big and some moms were able to use them up to 15lbs which for my kids is 6 months!!
But looking into it more, i may just stick with flats! And some pockets for outings and babysitting.

Lol. Super easy. If I were just washing flats I'd probably just do a rinse then a wash...

Yeah I origami fold. It's not hard once you realize how to do it. You just fold it two times like a normal blanket. Then lay it down and take a corner and pull it til it makes a triangle. Ten flip it over and fold the square up til it centers the tip of the triangle. Then lay baby on there and roll up around the legs and pull over baby and snappi it on. I'd look for cheap used snappis. Otherwise they're only like $4 new tops. I used the small blankets on dd from nb and still do. They fit good. Some of them I had to fold over a little when she was really small. But now they fit perfect. But I have bigger ones too. You could get some of those Walmart microfiber towels and wrap them up Inside when you fold over the padded part to make them more absorbent.

Yeah they're thinner and wash and dry easier.

When I was looking into prefolds I saw a packet of like 5 snappis for like $3, so I am sure I can find them cheap. wow I am really excited, now.

Lol. Plus they line dry SUPER fast. And I line dry my covers anyway so it works out.

So do covers come in sizes as well? Like NB, OS, small, or 1? I have small babies so I don't wanna go wrong when buying covers.

The opening is really wonky and they're hard to stuff and some people have leaks. BUT I do love me some Alva's. I have the most ridiculous stash ever, and about a quarter of it is Alva. Mostly customs, I love my cheapies so definitely not knocking them!

I can't line dry. We rent a townhome and I have nothing to put a line on. And our backyard is cement and garages and our front yard gets mowed weekly so no putting up poles or anything. I will have to use a dryer on medium heat so they don't shrink too much, I guess.

I would look at the Thirsties Duo size 1's. They fit newborns well and will fit until around 18-20ish pounds.

So I just bought Preppy the other day in the cover and look what they just released! And, I think there is another being released that is red and silverish. Oy. I am such a sucker for plaids, too!
